Sad news...
my 2-year-old's favorite song is 'magic dance' from labyrinth, so much so that just last night he coaxed me into youtubing it over the big bose speakers in the livingroom. i already get a bit of lump in my throat as it is. losing more of these artists is making it even worse.

ugh. death sux

Wasn`t that David Bowie?
Fantastic musician, a terrible loss.

My sister is a huge fan, she'll be devastated by this news. :(

tinyE: He changed it back.

Sad thing is none of the MTV stations are doing anything. They are sticking with their regularly scheduled crap.

fortune_p_dawg: david bowie, prince, dave mirra, harper lee, george martin, chyna, scott weiland, etc all so soon!
AND LEMMY KILMISTER YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD. And Christopher Lee, and Terry Pratchett, and many other significant figures died the past couple of years. It's like artmageddon. Artmageddon, I like that one. I'll copyright it.
I can't say I was a great fan, nothing close to the home much I loved (and still do) David Bowie or Joe Cocker, but it's still sad news. He might not have been my favourite, but I still recognise and respect how talented he was.

Careful. One might argue that that would make you an artist of the written word...

It's a good thing people thought of it before me then. In other contexts, but still, I'm not original! I'M SAFE FROM DEATH. SAFE.
Damn what a year :(

They're all being taken away before the end of the world begins 0_0
One of the Twin Cities' favorite sons. I suspect the whole area is in a bit of shock.

Edit: maybe now there will be some releases from the vault:

Yeah I'm not a pure fan of his released stuff, but man, the guy could play. A serious loss, artistically.

Though apparently he has so much unreleased material "they could release an album a year for a century" according to one source.
