If only inxile would pick up the wizardry license and remaster Wizardry 6 & 7, I'd be the happiest man on earth...

Regardless, insta buy when Wasteland Remastered arrives (remember folks, never preorder).

gog2002x: P.S. Now if we could get the Forgotten Realms series remastered, wouldn't that be something lol.
avatar
HunchBluntley: The Forgotten Realms series? A pretty decent chunk of all official D&D games to date have used that setting. ;)
Well mainly Pool of Radiance series (Curse of Azure Bonds, Secret of Silver Blades, etc), they are some of the early computer games that got me into PC gaming. It's hard to forget the ones that started it all for us.

Though it's not always easy to go back and play them after all these years with more modern RPG games coming out all the time.

Rarely pre-order. ;)

Sometimes supporting a good dev/etc is a good thing.

Yeah, I dont know what you are saying all the time Gamerager. I have had good conversations with you in the past. I upvote you here and there. But I never notice your negative rating get less. :D

As for pre ordering. I like Inxile and wasteland. I like Kromes previous work remastering the Bard's Tale Trilogy, so did not mind to preorder this title. It does not bother me when it is close to Launch with a specific date. Plus..like gamerager said nice to support a good project. Wasteland is a game that definitely needed a remaster. However, in general I rarely preorder but am not dead set against it. Depends on the game.

Lol, nah....I truly agree some devs need the support and showing them a bit of love for actual good valued products via preorder seems a fair and good thing to do on rare occasions. :)

I have "fans" who downrate and get others to downrate....tis sad, really.

They waste their time in the hopes i'll leave.....which will never happen.....so joke's on them, I guess.

Fans! Are you a Twitch/Youtube streamer? Hate to say this but if they go out of their way to downvote you all the time they are not really fans. :D

The internet is such a wonderful place.

darthspudius: Isn't that a remake not a remaster?
avatar
Tarhiel: No, it´s a remaster, just like Bard´s Tale Trilogy.
okay, so how do you remaster a game from 1988? This is a whole new game built from the ground up, its a remake.

No, not a twitch streamer(I don't have boobs to paint or a cool persona to sell to the masses, and cannot stand being on camera for long usually).

Also note the fans was in air quotes. ;)

It used to be even more "wonderful" till I learned to not fret about ratings so much....now it's more entertainment than stuff to worry over.

(Also i'm now curious how long they'll keep it up before realizing i'm not worth while as a target)

TBH I don't care what they call it as long as it's good. ;)

puviani: Will there be a (hopefully significant) discount for owners of the original Wasteland on GOG?
avatar
GameRager: This would be nice, but seeing as how many get/got it with wasteland 2(as a serial key freebie) I dunno if they could/would....I mean, it possibly depends on if they(GOG/etc) can tell who bought the first game vs. who got it for free(if they go the "paying customers of the old version get a discount on the new one only" route)...well unless they go the nice route and give all gog "owners" of the old version a discount, that is.
Would like to know, too.

I know the history of Wasteland, but that looks way too cartoony. Font and interface looks very amateurish. It all looks like a game for modern audience that plays lighthearted stuff like Stardew Valley on their phones, not a post apocalypse RPG from the 80s.

You can support them by buying their products when they are physically/digitally available.

If Pool of Radiance gets remastered, there are 3 things that I would really like to be changed:
1. Make it so that you don't need to re-select spells to memorize every time you cast them and want to get them back by resting.
2. Add an option to auto-cast healing spells on rest. (1 and 2 together would solve the healing issue the game has, at least outside of combat.)
3. Get rid of the sexist limit on female strength.

(There's other things they could change, of course, like adding an option to remove or at least greatly increase the level caps for non-humans (and by "greatly increase", I mean increasing it to at least the 20s, so such characters are viable in Pools of Darkness.)

What kind of question is this? - The same way they remastered Bard´s Tale, duh?
They have a source code.

Remaster - taking already existing game (codebase, etc.) and enhancing it (compatibility with new versions of graphic APIs, better textures in case of 3D games, etc...)

Remake - rebuilding the game entirely from scratch

Guess 3 times which one of these is Wasteland REMASTERed?

Ixoliptis: You can support them by buying their products when they are physically/digitally available.
Sometimes they have limited funds to keep making their games/keep the doors open(often due to being a smaller company) and that pre order money helps them get through "lean" times/allows them to pay the bills, employees, etc.

As such, I see it as a good thing if done sparingly and to the right devs/pubs and at the right times.....heck, it's the basis behind things like KickStarter/etc, which led to some good games.

dtgreene: 3. Get rid of the sexist limit on female strength.
It isn't necessarily s*xist.....a decent number of females(biological) are physically weaker than men(of course there are exceptions).

Maybe make it so that any female character that is a bodybuilder type is as strong or stronger than men to make it fair/more accurate? And maybe give female characters aspects/better levels in the main skills they're better at on average as well(like anything having to do with empathy/etc)?
