The infectious commitment to life.

<span class="bold">Shardlight</span>, the post-apocalyptic adventure of a young woman desperately looking to cure herself, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

Amy was five when the bombs dropped. This broken, severely oppressed, and hopelessly depressed world is all she knows. Now, twenty years after the catastrophe, people are still dying in the streets stricken by poverty and disease, while the corrupt aristocrats control the regulation of the cure in exchange for cheap labor and obedience.

Amy is sick herself but she is not about to go out with a whimper. She'd rather rattle the shaky foundations of a government that has people like her slaving away for a chance at a vaccination. All around her, among the ruins of what humanity once was, people are scavenging for scraps of a better tomorrow that seems to keep moving further and further out of reach. But not Amy. She is determined to fight for her life, even if she has to pay the ultimate price.

Point'n'click at the bowels of a terminally ill world and find a cure to your ailment in <span class="bold">Shardlight</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com. If you have the bonus fevers, go ahead and grab <span class="bold">Shardlight - Special Edition</span>, which includes the game's OST, voice-over outtakes, a concept art gallery, wallpapers, and other delicious goodies, or opt to <span class="bold">upgrade</span> later. The 10% launch discount will last until March 15, 4:59 PM GMT.

rgnrk: I never preorder games, but I made an exception with Technobabylon and I'll make another with Shardlight.
And no, I still haven't played Technobabylon.
same here, have only installed it to see if i could run the game without technical problems.
havent played it yet.

it says it arrive march 16th: now its march 1th
so that will deduct 2 weeks from my return, how will this be handled in case of problems ?:D
i assume they mean after download of the game ?

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. 30 days coverage after purchase.
Regarding ags games and options in the game that use galaxy for achievenment: this code does not work...

i am buying it, i do hope they dont use achievements in this game like in OOTT
cause i cant get the gog game to run, and none of the fixes works, so i am using the version the dev gave me from humble, now i can at least play the game.
only little problem is that i dont have bugfixes like gog version has cause i cant run it, it seems to need galaxy client
but even with the client installed it wont run seems like theres a program code being called that is not there (just check m topic in the oott forum, none of all the possible solutions work)

So i just hope shardlight does not use or call that achievenment code, otherwise i be filled with games that wont work.

all caps cause thats the way the mail arrives in the mailbox

MarkoH01: I could not find anything on their web site but is this really developed by Wadjet Eye or are they just publishing the game (like many before)? I know that WE stands for quality but I always liked the ones they made themselves even a bit more.

davelgil: Hi! Dave of Wadjet here coming out of lurker mode to answer some questions!

Shardlight was written and designed by our in-house designer, Francisco Gonzalez. The art was made by our in-house artist, Ben Chandler. The music was composed by freelancer Nathaniel Chambers (who is also known for his work on Primordia). I took more of a producer/supervisor role. So to answer your question, it *is* a "Wadjet Eye" game, but not a "Dave Gilbert" game.

Hope that helps!

Any plans for a Linux version?
Whatever it is, it's got to be better than Shartlight. Right? Am I right?

...

Alright, I'll show myself out.
I own every Wadjet Eye game on GOG and liked all of them (even The Shivah, which was... weird). To the wishlist, Shardlight! Got too many games to play right now - but I bet I can't resist much longer than a month :P
Isnt this also the name of a game on google playstore? *checks*

Another point&click adventure...
Pre-ordered.

I'm kinda sad. No FLAC soundtrack, and the mp3 quality isn't good.
They're all compressed at 128Kbps. I'll probably grab the soundtrack again on bandcamp.
Pre-ordered your last game Technobabylon and loved it to bits. I was also very pleased with its lenght. Shardlight also seems to be right up my alley and would even pre-order it if I could get some more information on its lenght, at least compared to Technobabylon. :-)
Looks and sounds right up my alley, but no can do at the moment.

Am I correct to assume that the extras are not pre-order exclusive?

Also why no FLAC for the soundtrack? Technobabylon, which is the only other Wadjet Eye game with a Special/Deluxe edition release here, does come with both FLAC and MP3.

Hey there, this is Francisco, the game's writer/designer. Unfortunately, I still haven't played Technobabylon myself (I was busy making Shardlight :)) so I have no frame of reference, but I would estimate that the average length of Shardlight on a first playthrough would be about 6-8 hours, potentially more if you look at/interact with everything.

Hope that helps!

Nice! Given my first impression of Shardlight, his sound might fit very well. Thanks for the info Dave.
Games from Wadjet Eye Games are always bought/pre-ordered instantly, without a second thought.

I own all of their games, and every single one was worth the money.
Is my feeling right and that shot with train refers to scene in Primorida?

Setting would definitely fit into timeline:)

Wishlisted for now :)

I'd say your feeling isn't right.

Primordia is a Wormwood Studios game published by Wadjet Eye, Shardlight is a Wadjet Eye developed and published game.

Other than Nathaniel Chambers doing sound design on both the games, I don't think they'll have all that much in common.

Then again, Dave and Francisco could answer you better than I can.
While the settings can both be classified as "post-apocalyptic," Shardlight really has nothing to do with Primordia aside from sharing a composer. Even so, Nate's score for Shardlight is very different to Primordia's. I'd go so far as to say it's one of the most unique scores in a Wadjet Eye game (but then I'm biased)
