tfishell: I swear, the older the GOG user, the saltier and more easily annoyed he or she is. :-P
I think you may have read a little more bile and anger into my post than I intended to convey ;-)

Still, it does seem to me like GOG has been scraping the bottom of the barrel for new releases lately. There is very little of what they release these days that interests me.

What do you want to see here?
I... I want it and I don't even know why XD
If GOG wanted a wacky physics game, people actually voted for Goat Simulator on the wishlist.

The fact that the trailer video and descriptions are basically entirely jokes, with virtually no explanation of why this game, in particular, is actually good, does not strike me as a great sign, and the screenshots make it look pretty unpleasant to play, but I'll try to keep an open mind. Not pre-ordering, though.

catpower1980: I tought we were going to get an exclusive episode of Euro Truck Simulator :(
I thought I taw a putty cat.
The Yogscast's LP video about this game was hilarious, but.. that's all.

Lots of things. The most interesting games I've played recently have been early access titles, none of them from GOG. I was hoping some of them might come here after GOG started their InDev program, but so far none of them have. Games like Factorio, Subnautica and Slime Rancher, to name a few. I'm not saying this is GOG's fault though. I think many devs are understandably reluctant to support more than one platform as long as they're still working actively on the game, and Steam has been in the Early Access game a lot longer than GOG has. I'm guessing they make things a lot easier for the developers than GOG does.

The MechoEcho release also once again reminded me that MindRover: The Europa Project is still not here. I gave GOG the contact information for the guy who appears to be the sole rights holder to the game a long time ago, but nothing seems to have come of it. For all I know, they never even looked into it. Or maybe they just thought the game "too niche" for GOG.

Currently I'm waiting for the release of The Way here on GOG. It was supposed to happen today, but hasn't yet. Meanwhile, the game has already been patched twice on Steam since the KS backers got their Steam keys for it. Given GOG's usually sloooow patching process, I'm guessing this means that either the game will be released here in an extremely buggy state within the next few hours, and won't be patched here for quite a while, or the release here is postponed to a later date.

All in all I think I've always been one of GOG's staunchest supporters, and an outspoken supporter of the DRM-free cause, but the fact of the matter is that lately I've been getting more and more of my gaming "fixes" from their competitors. Not because of clients, achievements, trading cards, social features, or any of the other bloated crap that I can very much do without. In fact, not because of anything that goes against any of GOG's values (or rather, the values that GOG used to have back when I signed up), but simply because they deliver a better experience. Not a more "convenient" experience, mind you. I'm not one of those people who can't handle not having all their games in one place, or think downloading and installing a patch for a game is "too much hassle". In simple terms, it's a matter of better products with better support, and often also a better price.

Damn, I didn't intend for this to turn into a rant, nor to derail this thread completely. Well, I wrote all that just now, so I'm going to post it (because I selfishly don't want to let all that work go to waste), but feel free to completely ignore this post. After all, these are just opinions of mine (and vaguely phrased ones at that), and I don't require anyone else to agree with me, or to even respond to this.
I'm very sure it's not, but I really want Laut Sprecher's song of the same name to be on the soundtrack.
Why?....Just why? I like the trailer tho.

Maybe some things should simply stay cancelled. If it was a classic, I'd say GOG should go for it, since there are always some fans out there and where should they look if not on gog.com. As a fresh release, I consider this one rather shovelware. I has it's place in gaming, but not on GOG imo. Bundle it DRM-free on Groupies or Humble and it'll find its happy players. GOG should definitely keep its standards up - it's one of their USPs after all.

I don't think it ever was cancelled, DeMignon. Nor was there ever an Atari Jaguar version of this :).

Not to me :D , i know the difference between 'sarcasm' and anger, and just being plane funny with some words...
i was a mod in small forum for 14 years, (its gone now) so i had to know when its sarcasm, anger, hate....
ofcourse some people can disguise things very well, making it look like fun or a mild form of sarcasm, but most of the time you can see right through it.

I also like some books and movies where a person states the obvious... lets say some kids are playing soccer at street and they accidentally kick the ball through a window, breaking the glass...

A guy walking bye sees it happen and responds: " wow the glass seems to be broken ..."

so the reply would be: " No shit Sherlock ... "
meaning that the person who sad this is stating the obvious,.

So some games that arent that good might get some funny comments.
I have this strange desire for Hotline Miami Kart Racing now. ;)

ReynardFox: This looks like absolute joke trash. It look like more effort went into making the trailer than the game itself.

Keep up that top tier curation there GOG.
For once i agree with you. I can take the piss as much as anyone else, but this is a real joke of a game.Like the goat and surgeon simulators. Trash. Big goose egg GOG
