Death becomes you.

<span class="bold">NECROPOLIS</span> a merciless action/roguelite where death is its own reward, is now available for pre-order, for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Who doesn't enjoy a spectacular, brutal, educational death? Especially if it's permanent, which means all your hard-earned or crafted gear, your elixirs, and any trust you had in your friends now lie shattered on the floor of an accursed, constantly-shifting dungeon.
But it also means that you get to start fresh, armed with more knowledge, better-honed skills, and additional upgrades available. So you've got no excuse if you die again. And again. And again. And then maybe drop in somebody else's playthrough or have them drop in yours so that you can die together this time. And one time after that. Then two more. Yes that's it, you're getting the hang of this now.

Pre-order <span class="bold">NECROPOLIS</span>, the unforgivingly cheeky dungeon-crawler, DRM-free on GOG.com. Those who pre-order the game will also get the NECROPOLIS soundtrack as a free bonus. The game is expected to be released on July 12.

"Do you feel lucky, punk?" - Snid The Monster
"Nope, there's just no way to beat that first boss"- Dark Souls veteran

Saved $29.99 . Even the minimum system requirements are too high for my PC .
Looks like fun.

CharlesGrey: By the same developers as Shadowrun Returns, huh? Wasn't aware of that -- I consider that a plus.

That aside, the whole "You'll die over 9000 times" / "It's harder than Dark Souls!!1" marketing crap is mildly annoying. ( And I'm saying that as someone who likes the Souls series and doesn't mind challenging games. )

Game itself could be fun, but 30-ish dollars is too much for a spontaneous purchase, so I think I'll wait for reviews and a discount.
30plus is too much indeed, i agree on that.

Lucky for me its a 3d/fpp like game so, thats another 30plus euros saved in my wallet :D
btw weird graphics again, what 'graphics' do they use ? vectors / voxels ? tbh i cant say the graphics look good, they resemble leafs from plants, too many games are using this weird and imho 'ugly graphics'
I assume they are monsters? cause if they have to resemble humans or even elfs, they look like intelligent vegetables to me, and not like humans at all.

I dont see any extras? normally there would be some extra's when preordering, i cant find any, so why preordering?

I like the art style. After I saw that the developer are HBS (the same of Shadowrun) and that the game is a windows/mac release I wishlisted it.
I will buy it as soon as I will get an idea of the gameplay of the final version. Also I will wait until a 10€ discount... I really cannot pay more than 20€ for one game.

gamesfreak64: (...) so why preordering?
- "Obviously, the stocks won't last so make sure you get your own copy now!", a voice echoed...
- "But, wait, isn't it digitally published? There are no stocks so the game can't be sold out, right?", replied the customer.
- "Don't piss me off, buddy. Will you buy or not?"
- "Hmm, I'd better be going now. I'll come back later..."
- "Well, what do you know...", the voice murmured..

Disclaimer: the story is a product of fiction and any resemblance to actual living person is totally coincidental. I'm in no way attacking HBS, I like these guys & their games - the sarcasm targets the whole preordering "feature". :)

okay thanks for the reply.
For something completely different, the min requirements list 5GB of HDD space, and the recommended list 10GB. What's that all about?
Does it have a field-of-view slider?

<tongue in cheek>Extended space for the error log? </tongue in cheek>

Just kidding, I have no reason to believe this game is more or less bugged than any other game.
NOT Dark Souls, then j/k

Wishlisted very much indeed, until the Furore (inbound, ETA 1 month) settles.
Does look good. Might get it once it's released. A lot of those features appeal to me.

Thanks for the reply.

I assume mp3 at least, and maybe FLAC?
I noticed some developers add more extras and some of them even had a lower price, anyway its good to read the pre-orders will get at least the soundtrack as a free bonus.

Phaedrus567: But I'll wait for the Linux build.

muntdefems: Looks like we could be in for a long wait...
Well, then the devs will be in for a long wait for my money. Meanwhile, I'll play some of the 63 Linux games in my GOG account.
Is this _only_ multiplayer, or is there an offline mode?

You know, for those who like DRM-free because it allows you to install your games even if you can't access the internet.
