Is there als an easy/n00b option so the companions don't die permanently? :-P
Say hello to my wishlist. Awaiting final relase and reviews before making a decision.
Not my cup of tea. Didn't enjoy the art style at all.
Also, the protagonist reminds me of Jack Keane. Which is a good thing for those of us who remain faithful to His Glory.

fuzzknuckle: Procedurally generated for this kind of game isn't quite my thing. Both this and the other new release today have very interesting art styles... me likey.
same here, weird engine, graphics aren my style looks like walking fruit... and the motions and effects are too much for my poor eyes
avatar
omega64: Weird, no permadeath for you but just for your companions?
which is maybe a good thing this way you wont get companions who strated to leave or groan when there is not enough killing or looting like the jagged alliance mercs had...
avatar
Maxvorstadt: Well, I don`t like permadeath, so no game for me.
me neither, but like i said too many motions, graphics style is not my style and too many effects (photosensitive)
so i sit this one aswell.

tinyE: Looks way cool.

Did you need something? :P
Question for the Dev/purchasers

1. Can I rebind keys ? I want to be sure I don't get locked into WASD because as a left hander I need to rebind to the right side of the keyboard right alt, ctrl , and . etc

2. Oh no. Permadeath really ruins things for me. Can it be turned off ? Is there a way to Save and Restore to avoid it ?

Permadeath needs to be an option. I'd like to buy this but not if it has permadeath. Someone here on the thread says permadeath is only for your companions not you. This is still no good, I want to be able to save, restore etc

If anyone knows the answers here please post :) Thank you in advance.

Tyrrhia: I love the colourful art style! And the gameplay looks simple yet fun. Wishlisted.

One question, though: It says that we can "unlock powerful new player abilities." Does that mean permanent unlocks that are tied to specific characters, or more like permanent progress between runs, à la Rogue Legacy?
It's only for each run.

We recommend to play the game with a gamepad. For keyboard controls, you can rebind them by editing a text file. There's currently on in-game interface for remapping the keys.

Thank you. So long as I can rebind keys, it will be fine. Yes I don't have a gamepad for the laptop, prob should get one but I usually use keyboard and mouse.

Thank you for that.
I see permadeath cannot be turned off and there is no manual save you can do thus completely ruining the game for me at least. Apparently there is automatic saving at the beginning of an area though. Permadeath can occur to main player and characters as well.

A great pity, I was about to buy this but now it has to come off my wishlist.

Permadeath should be an option so you can turn it on and off. If people want it, they can turn it on and play like that, if they don't they can turn it off, options are generally a good thing.

I wish the devs all the best for this title but the permadeath and lack of saving manually ruins it for me. Pity because it is EXACTLY the kind of game I would love.

Very lucky I asked, I would have been pretty upset if I had bought it and I found about this issue after. :O

Made by Eastasiasoft?

Hey, this is the same developer who published Soldner X: Himmelssturmer & Soldner X2: Final Prototype.
I knew that i'd seen their name somewhere before! :D

The game looks like the cell shaded art style of Borderlands, mixed with the Isometric action of Torchlight. Interesting concept, and i'll definitely be keeping an eye on this game.

It's a question of game balance. The game isn't balanced around a manual save system or non permadeath. Think about Spelunky with unlimited lives, it would neither be very challenging nor much fun.

Thank you! And yes, we have previously worked on Soldner-X and Rainbow Moon. Hope you will give our new game a try. :)

For you Spelunky would not be fun for me with unlimited lives (which I have) is perfect fun. Like I said it is about options.

Wasn't there a sequel to Rainbow Moon coming out? ...
Hmmm no PC version of Rainbow Moon, I should finish that game on my Vita.
