What possible harm can one crazy, mutant tentacle do?

<span class="bold">Day of the Tentacle</span>, the grand return of the grandest adventure of all, is available for pre-order now, only on GOG.com with a 10% discount for the first two weeks!

A crazy mutant tentacle is on the loose, plotting to take over the world. How you ask? That's not important right now! We need to be thinking about the how, just how are we going to fix this? Super simply, by going back to yesterday!

Alongside Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, Sam & Max, and Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle sits without question among the legendary golden-era adventures. Now, straight from the early '90s, Day of the Tentacle arrives in our dystopian future of 2016 — back for a blast from the past for those who missed it, and a shot of nostalgia for those who just miss it.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered is all the adventure you may remember with an optional layer of sweet improvements on top. You can mix and match between the unmistakably 1990s pixely art and a fresh high-res coat of paint, remastered audio, and an all new interface. There are extra goodies in the Remastered release as well, including in-game developer commentary and a fully playable version of the original Maniac Mansion. Your pre-order also comes with three exclusive Day of the Tentacle wallpapers, available right away to fuel your anticipation.

But don't take our word for it. Take it from the guy behind it all: <div class="embedded_video"><iframe class="embedded_video__file" width="775" height="436" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jsHKPPHdm7o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>

Welcome back to the <span class="bold">Day of the Tentacle</span>, available for pre-order now, exclusively on GOG.com! The pre-order discount will last for two weeks, until March 22, 8:59 PM GMT.

I bet most of you guys came when you saw the banner. :)

Not really my kind of game, but I guess I´ll get it nonetheless. :D
Heck yes! Thanks for bringing it back GOG and Tim!

NEVER pre-order Double Fine products!! I pre-ordered Grim Fandango from GOG.com, and the game was completely bug-ridden. To this day it contains all the bugs of the original release plus a whole slew more, including missed music cues, disappearing textures, and unfinishable game states. They eventually stopped releasing patches altogether.

Even when patches are released, they go to Steam immediately and GOG.com much later.

DO NOT pre-order a Double Fine game. You are asking to be burned hard.

Magmarock: More people use XP then Linux. Just saying.
Me included :-) But I cannot blame developer for using modern software for developing their games...Still it's nice if they provide alternative.

I was just curious because DF's previous remaster (Grim Fandango) did not support XP but had support for Linux and here we have quite the opposite.

Disgruntled at the regional pricing but nice to see this here.

suejak: NEVER pre-order !!
I fixed your post for you. :P

You're welcome.

But joking apart, DF HAS been known for messing up releases then slapping a v1.0 tag on the product never to speak of it again, we're looking at you Spacebase DF9! :D

tburger: Does it REALLY support XP but does NOT support Linux - or it's just inconsistency on gamecard?

Is Maniac Mansion a separate game that runs in SCUMMVM or it's placed 'inside' DoT?
it's "inside" dott. as you roam around the world, you'll find a way to play it.

ReynardFox: Does anyone else find the redrawn graphics in this really cheap and gross looking?
Yeah... the description says "hand painted", but it looks vectorized.

I own the original, but a digital copy would've been nice - if it were cheaper or actually looked better. Oh well.
oh...

I do not really like pre-orders.

And I'm not into P&C adventures anymore like I was back when it was Lucas Arts vs. Sierra.

Back then I preferred Sierra.

I pre-ordered this :D
No OS X or Linux support? *yawn* and pass. Awesome game though.

Given this promises a toggle between original and remastered mode though means I'll snap this up when it arrives.
I agree, it looks really cheap.

Likewise. They took long enough that I already spent the time and money to watch eBay for a sub-$30 (after shipping) copy of the original DOTT for my ScummVM and, as with Grim Fandango on ResidualVM, it'll also run on my ARM-based handheld at no extra charge.

(That seems to be a running theme with ScummVM games. I think Fate of Atlantis and Sam & Max were the only reasonably available (not floppy, FM-TOWNS, or horrendously rare) ones where GOG beat eBay to getting my money and the only reason I bought the remastered Monkey Island ones on deep discount is as fodder for soundtrack-extraction and Ultimate Talkie Edition builder scripts.)

Oh stop it. I pre-ordered my copy and finished it without a single hassle in less then 2 days. I usually have to suffer through some awful bugs but this was not one of them.

My pre-order is booked. I can't wait to play it day one.
