I completely don't understand the wish for moderation. GOG is the only big internet community I know where self-moderation works very well.

I don't know what threads you've been looking in, but I've clearly missed them. Sure, there are little tiffs now and then, and we have the random down-repping trolls, but nothing more. I know of only two members that really need to be steered clear of: One is banned, and the other only harasses people via PM and/or IM -- and you can block those messages, so no biggie there.

This is one of the friendliest sites I've ever been on, and for the sheer magnitude of members we have here, the level of civility is nothing short of outstanding! ^__^

Despite an almost complete lack of moderation the GOG forums are almost the most civil place I've seen on the web. The last thing we need is moderation. And in the cases where shit happens the blues do interfere, at least if someone messages them. So no, we really don't need moderation.

For the most part. I do wish at times there *was* some form of moderation - i know others feel this way - people saying "I got X game at X store" especially in a GOG release thread - this is not right and one of the things i DO feel should be clamped down on. That aside the community does OK certainly better than those *other* forums.

Magmarock: I'm surprised I haven't seen this bought up before. I've read a few threads and posts that have turned unpleasant from from users that abuse, harass and even bully other users at times. So I've made a wish list for forum moderation. You can vote for it here. http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/moderate_the_forums

I'm not going to name anyone or post links to any threads in particular. Also yes I am fully aware from those who know that that I myself would probably be guilty of breaking a few rules here and there. Still I believe good moderation helps.

Also, we can't even post images here. I don't think that ASCII swastikas are a big thing.

The only moderation we generally require is how often JMich farts and lets me get blamed for it and how often foxworks humps the bathroom rug!
