Corwim: Last Pinata sale, I asked them whether they would consider taking the games that didn't interest me out of my account in exchange for store credit, and they replied 'no problem'. I think that's a rather fair solution, I don't get a bunch of games on my shelves I'll never play, while GOG gets to keep my money. :-) Not sure they'll have the same approach this time around, but even if they don't, I know it's a bit of gambling going on and I had my fun in the end.
Getcomposted: The official Pinata thread had a blue replying somewhere that Pinatas are definitely included in their Money Back guarantee. So they're fine with refunds.
As I stated previously though, I do see Pinatas as gambling, and I'll take the bad with the good. Unless it's a dupe, at which point I'll ask for Wallet credit, I keep it.
The only instances I can think of in which I would "return" a game I didn't own was if I had a moral objection to the game (yeah, right!), or if I was absolutely certain I wouldn't play a game. So far, none of the "duds" have fulfilled the criteria.
But, some people don't see it as a form of gambling, or may not have the funds to keep the games. Fair play to them if GOG are okay with it (which they are).
Ah, thanks for that bit of information!
Totally respect your opinion, and yes this is a form of gambling indeed as I definitely knew I could end up with games I didn't like. :-) I will still be keeping the games I probably never would have picked up but have a remote interest in (looking at eg Pilot Brothers 3 here ;-) ). As for the ones I don't even like the genre of, for me it has to do with GOG's stance on this: if they are ok with refunds, why should I feel bad about asking for one? :-) When last Pinata sale I asked for a transfer of the money for the games I didn't want to my GOG wallet, the guy from customer service not only said no problem, he offered himself to transfer the money back to my credit card without me asking for it. To that I said no thank you, I'm grateful enough already that the transfer to my GOG wallet was possible at all and I will gladly spend that on other games here on the site. So for me, that shows, GOG is absolutely fine with refunds during this type of sale. In the end I still will have spend more money here this weekend then I would have if it were a regular weekly sale. But again, that's my opinion, totally understand your point of view as well.
