hummer010: Which appears to mean that at least some games have unlimited keys for this promo. Others obviously have a limit.

MaGo72: And this basically means, that the statement "no keys run out" can't be true.
No, as stated "The official word from GOG is the keys won't run out.", just means there will always be some Keys available, just not for ALL games.

Probably a couple dozen for higher Tier games and an unlimited amount for older games.

"The official word from GOG is the keys won't run out.". I think a better statement would have been, the high prced games have a key limit, the junk you can get all the time.
(OUT ?) Anno 1602 A.D.
Just got this. Also Time Commando, which isn't in the first post's list.
I bought 22 pinatas, and I'm pretty sure I got nearly all the $2.99 games for $3. Only a few of the pinatas cleared the stated $5.99 minimum. I feel pretty ripped off.

Draxism: I bought 10 Pinatas and got 8(!) duplicates.
While I own a lot of games, there are games that I thought were in the pool (Shadow Warrior 2 for instance) that I do not own.
Anyone else have this issue?
Tons of people.

22 x $3 = $66

Why didn't you just buy the games you already wanted? People, just look at the list of what's being given. If there's something you want on it, add it to your cart! It will be cheaper. There is no deal here. When you buy a piñata, you're most likely buying an old game you wont even play.
I whipped up a quick plot showing how often people have gotten games at the various price points. Thanks to all the people contributing their data to the google docs!

Disclaimers:
-This is based on 829 datapoints that were contributed to the shared google docs (self-selected data isn't always representative)
-This does not account for new games added to the pool or old ones being removed
-I did not take into account that GOG avoids games that are already owned

A few interesting points:
-The most common result by far is losing $0.01 (rough 24% of the time)
-Frequencies are weighted toward lower priced games (not a big surprise)
-However, there are peaks at the $10 and $22.49 price points
-Tyranny is an outlier, and the only game above $22.49

exolstice: I got: Strafe
No way? My pinatas are duplicates of games I already have and but I didn't get Strafe. Does it mean you can have it but not me?

This is contradicting the information about the sales which says we will only get duplicates if we already have all the games.

Not very transparent or fair GOG!

GOG, Please stick to the rules you have communicated or amend them!
I guess I should feel lucky my three pulls gave me $9.99, $12.99, and $19.99 list price games.

I don't feel that bad now.
It sounds like based on their percentages, they thought the good games would last all week. But because a number of people already had the cheap games, and with the no duplicate policy, they burned through the good games much sooner than they had anticipated.
It appears that they have limited keys of the more expensive games which they occasionally throw a handful into the pool, meaning that if you buy just after they hit, you've got a better chance of getting a game worth something. The only question is, how often does that happen?
Yay I got Republique!! I don`t think I wanted any of the piñata games more than this one!

Actually, I would like Thimbleweed Park at least as much, but Republique never gets on sale for cheap so I'm still happier this way.

Thanks GOG. And thanks for the freebie as well, although I'm not sure I'll ever play Deadlight. I'm just not a fan of the genre.
Just a quick question: Does any one know if a Pinata will give you a game that isn't compatible with your operating system ? (in my case Mac OS X).

I hope no one has had to find this out the hard way, and it seems unlikely that games that you can't even play would be in your pool, but I'm honestly unsure as to whether or not it could happen.
I received Day of the Tentacle Remastered, but I don't know if I should be sad or happy. Maybe I shouldn't be so impulsive.

I asked this same question in a different thread and the answer seems to be yes it's one pool so it totally is possible to get something you couldn't use I'm in the same boat of wondering but not wanting to waste the $ to find out...
