I'm a photographer; subject matter ranges from city stuff, to people stuff, to this and that. I'm probably best known for my burlesque photography; I've been shooting burlesque shows since the mid-noughties.

Well, let's resurrect this thread ;)

Did my first steps with long time exposure photos (up to 30 seconds, like in pic 2) yesterday in the evening.

Already got an 3.0 ND filter (+10 stops, rather etreme, but needed for a spanish summer) to make long time exposure pics in the sunlight as well. Lots of tourists here right now, so there are many crowded places. Paired with the walls of our beautiful historic center and one or two small fountains, this could provide some interesting photos. Another idea I have, is a "ghost effect" photo at this place. If I'm fast enough, I can get up from one of the chairs and run out of the pic, so that I get exactly this picture, with me beeing semi-transparent on one of those chairs. But that's a project for winter, because this place is too crowded during summer season...

Nice photos! I love long exposure pics myself and I've taken a few in the past. Your 3rd photo of the fountains remind me of the one I took back in 1999 with a film SLR. I developed the photo at the shop and scanned it with a flatbed scanner lol:

Those fountains are gone now in this day though.

This one is a more recent example in 2011, I used a ND8:

I feel like getting the Sigma 18-250mm lens now for general all in one usage. I already have the 10-20mm for landscapes and the prime 50mm for certain portraits.
I love photagraphy, I find the bedroom setting to be very relaxing.

overread: To save you and your wallet the madness of macro here's some planes.
Planes? Yeah, I have some planes as well. Visited the airport firefighters some weeks ago.

Well... The keywords "firefighter" and "planes" rang a bell in my head. We had a frickin' huge forest fire here last year... I'm living in a seven-story building in the center of the city. The firefighting planes got their water in the port and were flying exactly over our house.

Was a very scary situation...

cw8: Nice photos!
Thanks. I think for my first steps into this territory, they're quite okay. It's the first time that I have to think about aperture... Normally I have it all open, except for portraits.

Looking great.

Hope I get to go on a tour end of this year. Take alot of landscape shots and stuff.
Try photographing a waterfall with an ND filter. The result will be AWESOME!

Or the evening scene at the beach with the waves of the sea of course.
Yup. Maybe even experiment with daylight light painting as well. Would be difficult but may yield some cool results.

We don't have waterfalls here. No rivers and lakes and not even little streams (I'm living on an island). All we have are "torrentes"... I have no idea how THAT'S called in English. That's where the water goes down if it rains a lot in the mountains.

But I have other things in mind with this filter. Crowded places, Ferris wheels (during blue hour), traffic, ships, moving clouds + architecture, fireworks (10-stop filter at night? I'm crazy? Look at this 9-stop filter pic), trees on a windy day... I've seen quite some interesting motifs already.

How about going to mainland Spain? We have it worse, we have nothing but buildings and roads here, buildings and roads, buildings and roads. :)
I use a Sony a3000. I bought it because it was cheap and I didn't have other camera... and you know what? I love this tiny beast :D I'll try to upload some photos when I get a chance ;)

WOW ! And the foreground isn't even overexposed ! And notice the blurs caused by the the spectator's smartphones? Awesome picture.

Have you tried painting with a narrow torch/laser pointer using slow shutterspeed? With the ND, I think you may be able to get one in relatively dark daylight.
