Damuna: (For what it's worth, Arcanum had one of the kitschiest maps I've ever seen, but it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played.)
Arcanum is the entire reason they got my 20 bucks at all.

Psyspace: I just wish it was going to be turn-based instead of RTwP...
While we do lack a lot of turn based RPGs I still think RTWP will be better suited, maybe because I think it makes combat more fluid while you can still use your party tactically with no time limit.

As for Update 5#, I enjoy the idea of multiple civilizations (I hope they make the game long and big enough to explore at least several and not only one) and different technology stages but this soul thing seems like Fade from DAO, slightly forced and somewhat simple but we'll see lator on. I can see soul system becoming useful and interesting gameplay wise, it's the role playing idea and atmosphere that might kill it.
I pledged just for the hell of it, but now I'm really intrigued by the kind of game Obsidian is designing. Sounds like it can be incredible.

I figured they'd at least hit $2 million, but this may have enough legs to hit $2.5 million.

Try $3. I would be surprised if it didn't get that much. They still get a good 40-50k a day and the last few days generally see people upping their pledges.
I am hoping that they hit the two million mark, because I want a place to leave my loot and companions. As someone who literally picks up everything that I see in New Vegas, a place to keep things is essential.
These guys will get $2.5 million easily.

Im thinking somewhere between 2-3million. Maybe a bit over if they are close in the final days..
I'd love to see Obsidian on GoG but I was thinking about it and how hard it would be for them to come to GoG with their old titles, Obsidian may be a hard to get on GoG because they have so many different licenced stuff(Lucas Arts, Bioware, Atari, Wizards of the Coast, Sega, Bethesda) and that's really a shame...

I can't see them getting less than $2.5mill.

An average of $20k a day for the next 25 days(with no end of kickstarter bump) would get them $2.3mill.

You just don't know though. They have had a lot of coverage. Maybe everyone who wanted to get in on the action already has and things will drop off dramatically. I would be surprised if that happened, though.

Interestingly, there hasn't been much of a bump for the end of the broken sword project.

I just recently began to play Alpha Protocol and enjoyed it a lot more than I would, I would gladly have Obsidian regardless of their specifics IPs they will be allowed too. As long as it at least one game arrive here from a developer/publisher it's more likely that even more will arrive in due time. :)

Despite it's flaws that game was so good!

Sabin_Stargem: In the case of Obsidian, they already had the reputation and pedigree, so they can get away with much more than most other kickstarter projects when it comes to details. We are already acquainted with previous projects their staff had a hand in:

Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas
Baldur's Gate I & II
Planescape Torment
Alpha Protocol
Neverwinter Nights 2
Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2
Arcanum
Vampire: Bloodlines

doady: Icewind Dale I and II, not Baldur's Gate I & II.
The complete core team are former employees of Black Isle which worked on Baldur's Gate for sure.
IIRC they have about 25 employees from BIS and Troika, so about a quarter of their current staff. Sawyer talked about it under his rope kid account on Something Awful forums.
