Just play Eve Online or Elite.

Smannesman: I suppose so and perhaps even Daikatana before that.
But NMS is more current and as such probably the better 'poster boy' for it.
Or 'poster person' these days.

Piranjade: Up until release Spore had videos and presentations showing features that weren't in the final game. (I'm not even talking about the %*§& DRM it had at release.) I go with Spore.
I think that is easily beaten by NMS. Even after release there are features promised on the steam page that aren't in the game.

gibbeynator: Hello Games finally breaks a 3 month long silence, not to answer for their shenanigans or give an explanation for what happened, but to push their first major DLC pack.
Honestly, what could they say to the salty masses at this point that would change anything. I feel that coming out with news of DLC that will start the path towards making NMS into the game everyone was hoping for is the best way to deal with the situation. If they had just said, "Sorry, guys." Would you really have been okay with that? Actions speak louder than words and the new content patch is a very solid action.

gibbeynator: The community wants answers and they're giving them a sales pitch. It's a good thing it's a free update, because charging for content that literally should have been in the game from day one would kill what tiny amount of credibility they have left.
How can it be considered a "sales pitch" when it's free? I think you're just looking for a reason to be mad with this pair of sentences rather than focusing on the positive which is that the DLC is here and that free for everyone. On top of that, the news comes on the heels of the game being made available for 40% off, so not only is the content patch free, but they're undercutting their profits on potential new sales of the game as well. This is what is called a "show of good faith", not a "sales pitch".

Sorry, but the game that the people are hoping for wont every happen.

They are not even working on the the promised features (multiplayer, trader only, fight against a large plantar defense and so on).

So they may transfer this game that may like many people, but never that game that has been promised.
