Really glad to see this actually happening. I followed the progress off and on and it's very impressive what has been accomplished. Glad I still have the CDs for the game!

Any timing issues that I'm aware of should be resolved in the ScummVM version, but please check and report for specific cases.
Also a bunch of other bugs should be fixed as well :)

There's lots of dialogue and scenes that were cut from the original release. Some make sense that they were cut, others... less so, so we're restoring those.
The "restored content" version is not complete yet, in the sense that there's still content left to be restored, but it should be completable as the original one. So you could give it a shot.

To give an example, restored content *currently* includes (without going into spoilers much):
- A Voight Kampff test for another character
- A few more of McCoy's inner thoughts about stuff
- About 3 extra video sequences (no dialogue scenes, basically spinner flying or landing and an extra sequence in an underground location)
- Two additional meetings with Sean Young's character :)
- Voiced spinner GPS
- A few more dialogue lines and options in some dialogues.

Like I said, there's more to be done, but I'd be interested to read feedback from anyone who tried it.

Made the mistake of watching one of the many, many Blade Runner Blues balcony videos on Youtube after hearing of this. Couldn't resist digging into an old closet no matter how spider filled it was by now.

Boy Westwood really shipped great boxes, Blade Runner and the original Command and Conquer are about the only survivors in my pile of shamefully stored classic boxed games. I've got it up and running now on my macbook. Think I only ever played it once way back- god I want to forget how long ago. Should be like my first time!

So I've got it up and running in ScummVM by taking the required data files from the CDs. Now, does anyone have any recommended settings for ScummVM with this game? Only I'm new to ScummVM. Currently my settings are as follows (from the scummvm.ini file):

Good excuse to finally get a use of my French copy... and perhaps help ScummVM with its subtitles file. :)

I think the default stuff are probably ok / recommended. I haven't done any changes to that ini file, or via the ScummVM GUI, other than enabling subtitles, and playing with the easter egg modes under the "Edit Game... -> Engine" tab :)

One wonders how this keeps happening. Whoever (or perhaps it's multiple "whoevers") holds the license would probably prefer the game to make them some money, as opposed to doing nothing.

They wouldn't want to renew the license for cheap because it would lessen the value of it overall for other projects and licensing. Also with this game you've got the conflict of the old publisher with Westwood being sold to EA and other factors. With No One Live Forever the problem is that the companies literally don't know who owns it anymore and it's not worth the cost to hire lawyers to figure it out. Blade Runner's probably in a similar spot AND would have to pay Dick's estate and the movie production house and all that.

Luckily abandonware is a thing and most companies don't care if they legally can't sell it. No One Lives Forever literally has a public website set up to download the games from, with no one seeming to care.

Will just have to hope then:)
