Zimerius: some changes do look stunning though

anzial: Sure, but since the mods deliver the visual enhancements already, this LE is just a cash-grab from EA, plain and simple. If it wasn't, EA would offer the LE for free to the owners of original trilogy as many other remaster publishers do.
the word you are looking for is console , not pc , don't mix them up ;)
you probably don't know how awful the first 2 releases looked on the xbox
and personally i don't mind the revival of a 10 year old game

Consoles are irrelevant in this context, this is GOG forums, not PS/Xbox forums.

True PC users have less incentive to grab this because of mods.

I would again say that the main reason for PC users to get this collection is ME1 due to the gameplay changes and fixes. The original Mass Effect wasn't designed to take advantage of a multi core CPU so if they correct this that could help performance immensely (provided that modders haven't done a fix already).

The other reasons would be the work on the character creator as they are adding hair styles and tweaks to the previous two creation tools so all three have the same features.

But again ME1 would be the main reason, It is a good bundle deal though if someone who has never purchased the previous games and DLC so it is a good entry point.

I do hope the improvements will count for something,

Most remasters i bought, outside HomeWorld, really did not bring something more to the table. Most of the time i did play the game already to dead.... of course there is the nostalgic value and new players.... yes of course

i also hope the added bonus will be a superior next release in the mass effect sage

Not sure what you mean, ME1 ran just fine on my old rig at 4k res with the mods, performance was just fine, visuals were great, didn't see any issues whatsoever and gameplay suited me just fine. In anything, it was ME2 which annoyed me with changes from ME1 that limited my choices somewhat (when I played them back to back). LE ME1 also loses the Pinnacle Station DLC, so in exchange for questionable improvements you get less content. At this point, before the actual reviews of the LE post release, I don't see any point in this tradeoff, especially when I'm supposed to pay AGAIN to get less.

Mass Effect WHO? Thats not the Star Control remake we actually deserve.

The music is OK in all of these games but the story, setting and plot is absolute and utterly TRASH. Keep that dirty garbage out of this clean place or exchange it with a proper Star Control 2-remake.
nm.

No u. Also play Star Control if you want to play something that is actually good enough to be called a video game.

Yep, EA confirming its title as the worst gaming company ever, year after year.

I posted the changes they are making to ME1 earlier in the thread so I would suggest reading that for what is being altered, I also posted other alterations being made in other areas of the thread as well (including the post you quoted but cut out)

I would also suggest doing a search on Mass Effect 1 CPU performance as there are a number of issues due to the port, I never had the issues that people have reported myself but I have had a lot of the Frame Rate and other hardware related issues, again I am aware people have made fixes for some of these.

Also I'm not saying everyone should go buy this, in fact I'm showing that there is minimal reason for a PC user to get the collection as the main changes are in ME1, all other changes are to graphics which mods can be used to achieve the same improvements.

As for Pinnacle it is not being left out because they want to leave it out it is being left out because the source code being corrupted.

Al in all there are only 3 reasons for a PC user to buy this:

1. They never experienced the Mass Effect Trilogy and this offers an all-in-one entry point.

2. They don't want to deal with installing all the mods to achieve the same effects or dealing with compatibility issues.

3. They want to support the Mass Effect IP so the series will continue, I am betting that there are people that will feel that if this doesn't sell well they may put the franchise back on ice (no idea if this is true, but it's EA so I can see it).

Why the heck would I be searching for anything? I've said my piece, end of story. I haven't experienced any of the issues you describe, in fact, this is the first time I hear of it and I had ME1 ever since it came out, I actually went out and bought it on a CD, way before EA and origin crap, with a serial key and everything, and played the shit out of it. I bought the trilogy years later and played through it all over, and never have I experienced any issues, either on the very old hardware back in the day, not on the relatively new one a couple of years back. As for Pinnacle station, it's worst excuse ever, corrupt data my ass, EA just didn't want to spend money on fixing something, and it is an important part of the overall story, IIRC it is reflected in sequels in one way or another.

In any case, right now it's way too early to draw final conclusions. I've already said that I will wait until actual reviews of the actual retail release to make my own decision but as things stand now, the LE is a plain cash grab from EA, nothing more. And future of ME will not be determined by this, MEA already buried it, unfortunately (and I actually liked MEA), not to mention the OTHER Bioware disaster of a release after MEA.

Unfounded. The game hasn't been released yet. For example: Upping the polygon count (characters and/or environment) is something a remaster CAN do - while mods rarely improve in that department.

Anyway... I wouldn't buy the LE for controller support (PC) since the original games had pretty simple mods that unlocked it (yeah, the PC versions already had the same controller support that the console versions had - it was just 'locked' away).
it will be garbage
they are removing female asses from the cutscenes
