hoovergog: i hope they can get star wars battlegrounds!!!!!!! i have been waiting years to play it
I owned and played it when it was new... it's kind of a resknned Command and Conquer game (the older ones, like the original C&C, or Covert Ops).

Units are a bit bland and maps feel uninspired. Still for the nostalgia, it's good to have it in your collection - just warning you not to get your hopes too high for an epic game.

Licurg: Yay ! :D But where's Rogue Squadron ?
For some reason, the very cheesy "rebel assult II; the hidden empire" is on my wish list.. It's a bad game with BAD FMV and acting.. but I just.. have this nostalgia for it...

metaljah: Today will be a day long remembered.
You have seen the release of x-wing, you will soon see the release of b-wing

gbaz69: Wait, why are two games $12.50? ... so that 20% off can make them the normal $9.99 SILLY~~~ (thumbs down to those titles that are $12.50)
avatar
PaterAlf: Well, it's probably because they are DRM-free and flat priced. $12.50 is more or less the exact same price most Europeans have to buy for these games on Steam.

Another question: I just want to buy one of the space shooters by now. Which one should I pick: X-Wing or Tie-Fighter?
If my memory serves me right from the 90's, you need a joystick to play Tie Fighter, and you can at least play X-Wing with keybindings on the keyboard..

So that may sway your choice.

grimgroove: This is disastrous news.
The HD release is all fine and well, but I chiefly want to play the original.
But isn't Double Fine already in some partnership with GOG? MAybe they don't want to release the orginal version out of fear it will hurt sales of te HD version?
avatar
stg83: As Laserschwert said the Remastered version of Grim Fandango will include the original version as well which you can toggle back and forth similar to the Monkey Island Special Edition. Therefore, it would be redundant to release the original version right now.
Do the Special Editions run on old machines, if one ONLY plays the classic variant of the games and NEVER changes to the newly? I doubt that. So at least I wouldn't find it redundant to release the originals too (to a lower price than the 'specials' of course).

agogfan: Now luke here GOG, I've gotta han it to you for adding another leia of games. Yoda man!

gandalfnho: Really hope GOG's contract doesn't include only adventures and Star Wars titles, Outlaws is probably the more known of these other ones, but is nice to see people remembering games like Afterlife and Secret Weapons of Luftwaffe too
avatar
cal74: I'd love that. I was too young when I first bought Secret Weapons of Luftwaffe (combined with a limited knowledge of English) and I was really bad at it but I've got fond memories nevertheless. So, it would be good to be able to try it once again.
Secret Weapons of Luftwaffe, was the most fun I ever had with any flying game. Simple controls (mouse) made it much more enjoyable to me. Yet every plane flew different.
OK, now that I got paid, I was finally able to show my gratitude and support of GOG and Disney by buying Indiana Jones and Sam & Max (not because they are the cheapest of the bunch, but because, in all honesty, the Star Wars games don't interest me all that much and I'd rather have access to the original version of Monkey Island than to this special edition).

Just trying to show Disney they can trust us GOG users, we're not a bunch of thieves and pirates and we do buy their awesome games legally, if we're given the chance and if companies treat us with respect and like the citizens and individuals we are.

Thanks a whole lot, GOG and Disney, and let's keep this partnership flourishing!

Happy gaming, everyone!

Did I miss something? B-Wing is included in the X-Wing package "Includes STAR WARS™: X-Wing Collector's CD-ROM and all Tour of Duty expansions: Imperial Pursuit and B-Wing in both - 1994 (DOS) and 1998 (Windows) versions!"

Klumpen0815: The next publisher will be Blizzard, throwing their old games at us (The Lost Vikings 1+2, Warcraft 1+2, Diablo+Hellfire, Starcraft: Broodwar, etc...). ;)
My bets are hedged between Take 2 and ZeniMax. (I know, I know, ZeniMax loves their DRM ... BUT...)

Barry_Woodward: :snip:
That's service! :)
But you could add the former ranks and how much they climbed since your last posting/counting :)
Thank you gog. Lucas arts omg. My wallet is not safe. The memories of playing these classics.

Actually, I believe it is a re-skinned Age of Empires 2 game. Even the PC Gamer review at the time said as much. You could put the two games and their unit and building lists side-by-side and pretty much get a one-to-one match.

That being said, I would not mind replacing my physical copies with digital ones here. C'mon LucasArts - bring those boys here (along with Empires at War and its expansion)!

Ah, right AoE2! I couldn't recall that name, but yeah I played 'The conquerors' a lot while underway (navy). It was one of the few games we had the -no cd- code for, that we could install on the shop compuer (because our LPO -leading petty officer) liked the game xD )
Congrats GOG, great signing.
HOLY SHIT.

How the hell did the legal team pull this off?
I also hope to get both the Galactic Battlegrounds games as well as X-Wing Alliance (with wide screen and mouse support). Oh, and X-Wing vs Tie Fighter!
