Thank you GOG, this is the greatest day in my life, a dream come true.

(Well, not really, but it's still great, thanks a lot).
Surely I won't be the first one to say this, but since I don't feel like browsing through a -- by my standards -- whopping 16 page thread, bring in LOOM!

(Maybe even the Amiga version?)

Thank you, thank you...and THANK YOU!!!

Been waiting for this day for so long, my two most favorite games ever, playable again, X-Wing and Tie-Fighter, not to mention all those other great Lucasarts games... 2014 is coming to a great end, rejoice!

But wait, NO REJOICING YET!!!...No 1995 Collectors Edition version of X-Wing or even worse, no 1995 Collectors edition of Tie-Fighter, those are the definitive editions of those magnificent Space Combat Simulators!

Please GoG, try your best to release those as well, you can't leave out the 1995 definitive versions of these two Star Wars games.

HereForTheBeer: If I may ask, then, what happens in the case of Steam - and presumably Disney - wherein upon login you're confronted with a new EULA and if you choose to not accept the new terms then you can't access your account or play the previously-purchased games that require such access?
avatar
Shendue: Obviously, you'll have to agree with the new EULA or you won't be able to access the game.
Yet, such new agreement may not be legally valid if local laws in your country differ from what's stated on it.
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. If laws in country XYZ say the EULA doesn't take precedence over law, and yet they go ahead and block your access because you don't abide by the updated EULA, then aren't they breaking the law by cutting off access to your content? Wondering how they're getting past this... or maybe EVERYone simply clicks "Sure, why not?" and nobody has raised the issue in countries with laws that firmly state they (Steam, etc.) can't do that.

In theory one could use offline mode, but I think the problem there is that unless you agree to the new EULA then you can't get to the client to enable it.
great job GOG!

Should I ask you about LOOM?

But seriously, I hope to see LOOM here around christmas, of the LucasArts game I have not yet played this one I am most interested in.
avatar
Siegor: I remember playing a Lucasart demo back when I was a teen about a team of cientists (?) that crash landed on a planet. Hope it's one of the next releases.

MiklCraw4d: The Dig! Hopefully...
That's the name! Thank you! It's been almost 20 years! Why am I using so many exclamation points?
Been sad since my one of my CD's from The collection broke... alas! No more crying! Time to dust off the good ol' joystick and get back into the greatest Space Sim of all time!! Gotta love the 16 bit music!

Yeah, that's my #1 in the waiting list for LucasArts games :) I hope GOG will release at least FM Towns and CD DOS versions.

Niners4President: I actually just recently tried my copy of xwing alliance but wouldnt run on my 64 bit windows 7 so im really stoked to see X Wing and Tie Fighter here hope to see the Jedi Knight Series and many other greats too
Yeah, mine totally barfed too. I never tried to get it working in any emulators etc. though, nor to see if anyone figured out how to do it online. I intended on doing a Google sweep sometime and trying again though but never got around to it. Now that LucasArts/Disney are on GOG I think I am not going to bother and just buy them again as they come out ready to play on GOG.
avatar
cristigale: This is an awesome, early Halloween treat! Thanks, GOG!
avatar
Ragnarblackmane: it truly is, what games are you most excited about? X-Wing and TIE Fighter for me, since I own KOTOR.
Monkey Island and KOTOR. I didn't own a computer when most of these were released. They all look appealing.
Both Tie Fighter and X-Wing already into the top 250 all-time bestsellers after less than 48 hours, impressive.
