Played for about a half hour so far. I must say, it's lacking a lot of polish. It hasn't been particularly fun yet. It was fun to sink a ship, but then I got stuck and couldn't figure out how to control another ship (though I think it is possible).

I'm certainly not done with it by any means. But this is a niche title. If you liked Mount and Blade, you *might* enjoy it. If you didn't like Mount and Blade, you certainly won't like this one.
I've got an hour of playtime. It's quite the learning curve (I've forgotten how to play M&B at this point!).

I'd have to say that by what I've seen, it's just not for everyone. I can't really recommend it. But I don't think I'm done with it. It should be decent-fun in the long run, but it's certainly not a great game by any means.

It has some bad English in dialog, you can't (as far as I can tell) quit or load when you lose a battle and you're in jail, which makes it difficult to practice fighting. It's not well-thought out.

But there's definitely Mount&Blade going on with a pirate theme. You have horses, guns, swords, ships, etc. Shady characters, Spanish Main nations battling. It's all fun and good with the setting. It's just not great. :)

So overall, I'd say go spend your money elsewhere. I'll get my $5 worth, for sure. But there's far better games to play. :)

Tallima: A decent sandbox game set in Golden Pirate Era. Sadly, the game lacks the depth and thus after some time it becomes repetitive. I think that creating a few storylines aka campaigns would make the game a lot better. Maybe it’s focused on multiplayer and that’s where it shines but I won’t check that.
It seems the game does have a Campaign mode

Just saw this - is this an ingame option or a mod? Care to elaborate a bit on that steampost you linked to?

it's in the main game. All you have to do is follow the prerequisites to start it.

- Have negative relationship with Spain.
- Have 0 or more relationship with Brotherhood of the Coast.
- Don't be married and don't fail the Governor's daughter quest.
- Have the renown of 300 and more.
- Complete at least three missions (from governors or the Suspicious man).

After this, visit any non-pirate city.
