I'm sorry to hear you lost your friend. Losing pets can be harder than some people sometimes. At least for me. I remember my cat and how he looked at me maybe for help?? We tried me and my friend but just kept him on our couch until he didn't wake up.

19 years is very long life but not long enough for us. We get what time we have with our friends and than it's gone... maybe just for a little while.
My condolences. At least it appears she had not just a longer but also a better life than most dogs, so you must have many happy memories of her to cherish.
my sincere condolences. but stay strong. okay?

csanjuro: she was 19 years old
sorry to hear that man.
thanks again
I'm sorry for your loss. 19 years is a long time for a dog. She had a good run. She must have had a happy life.

Lost my childhood cat of 15 years about 20 years ago now. I still miss her occasionally. I occasionally miss my grand parents too. If I don't suffer an untimely demise, it will be my parents too before too long I imagine.

I hope my wife will outlive me and she hopes I'll outlive her. Given that I'm somewhat older than her and that women outlive men by a few years on average, I'm likely to get my wish.

Anyways, it gets significantly easier with time, but it never completely goes away. Whoever said that time heals all wounds either didn't love deeply enough or is full of sh*t.

Dogs are loyal companions and real family members. I have two dogs and I know how you are now. Sorry for your loss, mate.

19 years is a proud age, a dog only manages that when he is doing well. So everything done right my friend!

Sorry for your loss. The dog will be alive in your heart.
Sorry for your loss! Pets certainly become part of the family. Glad you could enjoy your dog for 19 years. Take care.
I've refrained from responding...

... because sometimes the usual words just seem so trite.

But I keep coming back to the thread...

I'm sorry for your loss. I too have known the death of a trusted and beloved companion, a dog.

Always think of the many years -- and good times -- you had together... and may they warm your heart. While dogs' lives are short, their unconditional love is great... a state that all should aspire to.

May your life be better for having shared that companionship.
I'm sad to read the news, but 19 years is special. Your dog might have genuinely been one of the oldest dogs on the planet. I keep hoping my pets will have such a good run but stuff like cancer or other conditions keeps taking them away from us too soon. I enjoy sometimes seeing them in my dreams.

It doesn't make things hurt less, but as they say, grief is the price of love and you clearly loved your girl.
Sorry for your loss.
19 years is an incredible life span. What was the breed out of interest

Sorry for your loss anyway. It's never easy
