It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

WTF???

I'm sitting here with nothing on my desktop, watching some TV. When lo and behold I look up and Firefox has opened up!!! LOL! I didn't touch anything.

Firefox has been acting weird lately in other respects too... I've been online (here for example) and the screen will just turn BLACK. ALL BLACK. Only in Firefox. If I minimize Firefox, my desktop was still there, normal. But opening Firefox back up returned the BLACK SCREEN.

Geez. Black screens... opening up all by itself..... witchcraft????

EDIT: To be clear, I saw it "open up". It wasn't just a matter of me looking up and seeing Firefox open. I saw it "open" up, I saw the screen go from Desktop to Firefox to my Home Page. And I touched NOTHING. LOL

It had me freaked, so I downloaded Malwarebytes and did a scan. It found nothing though. really weird stuff going on.

What OS are you running?
Is it updated?
What virus protection do you run?
Have you run a full scan recently?
Yep, sounds like some trojan horse/virus/malware to me.
I'd stay away from online banking and do a complete check from outside your OS, with the Kasperspy Rescue Disc for example:

He noticed that his cat is better at Terraria than he is.

Perhaps it's a trojan screen saver: 'there's nothing to see here, move along'.

I have the same issue with the main client area of the Firefox window turning black at random points. Only way to fix it seems to be to restart the browser. It started after the latest update. I am not up to date with the development of Firefox, but aren't they just about to roll out their multi-process support (Electrolysis)? If I would guess, then that would be the culprit.

Might be best to focus your worry on the auto-startup of the browser.

He didn't specify it has to be alive. A ghost cat would explain things nicely.

THANK YOU!!! So it's not just me!!!

I thought maybe i was losing my mind... err. losing it more than "normal" that is. lol

Yeah, this black screen thing has been happening for about... I dunno, I wanna say two weeks or so. But the browser starting up all by itself was a new one. LOL.

I ran multiple scans on my system and all of them report finding no threats (Malware Bytes twice with different options selected, Windows Defender once).

Really some weird stuff going on.

ADDED: You know, my keyboard is sitting on my lap most of the time, and was when the computer "came alive" today too. Might it be possible a key was struck on the keyboard that caused Firefox to open??? Guess I didn't think of that. And I don't _think_ I hit any key... but if that's possible I suppose that could explain it????
