Both Outcast and Freespace 2 had endings which obviously were meant to lead to sequels (who or what are those Shivans, what are their intentions? What's going to happen to Cutter Slade?), but unfortunately they never were made.

EDIT: Though I might have to change my opinion about Outcast 2...apparently it was intended to be more narrowly focused on action and to have an Avatar-like plot...might not have enjoyed that. And was intended as a console game anyway, so I couldn't have played it.
But it's a pity Freespace didn't get its deserved third act.

1) The REAL "diablo 3" from Blizzard NORTH! (existed but purged while in pre-alpha)
2) The REAL "red alert 3" that feels and plays like 2 and is from WESTWOOD.
3) The REAL next-gen "GTAs" without the new realism, physics, vehicle-handling crap.
4) A good old, metroidvania style "castlevania", that doesn't reboot the series!
5) "Plants VS Zombies 2" but FOR PC and WITHOUT MICROTRANSACTIONS!
6) TOUHOU games and TOUHOU, again!!!
7) "Kill the Faggot"! Steam ultimately removed it!
8) "Mohammad Sex Simulator"! It circulates only underground!

Any time someone wants to jump in and tell me how this worthless piece of shit is still allowed here, I'm all ears.

Warcraft Adventures and Starcraft Ghost. Two games with a lot of promise that got chucked into the furnace to fuel the fires of World of Warcraft.

Other victims that never even got to start were Rock and Roll Racing 2, Lost Vikings 3, and Blackthorne 2.

The "real" Diablo, back when the plan was to make the game turn-based.

The "real" TES: Arena, which was to involve arena matches between groups of gladiators. (I do, however, like the rather different game that ended up being released under that title.)

The Gamecube version of Super Paper Mario. (I did not get a Wii because of my policy against DRM on digital downloads, plus the Wii was region locked (but so was the Gamecube).)

Hmmm, I think you took me way too seriously. It's a joke! I mean look at the list of games I provided! I mean, if we give a serious answer then we're being too serious, and if we give a humourous tongue in cheek answer we're considered too serious. We can't win!

lol, ah, okay then. Sorry, I kinda had a rough start here. X) You seemed pretty serious, but yeah, after rereading your post it does kinda seem like you were joking. XD Guess we can't win. ;)

Letters typed into web forms on the Internet are devoid of inflection, context, emotion, and also cultural and lingual differences. When we say things assuming people will take it one way but do not clearly specify our intention, people are left to speculate, assume what we mean, the tone we're conveying it with, whether it is serious or humour, etc. Emoticons can help to a degree to mitigate the lack of emotional clarity, but even they can be ignored by some who take things literally even if they aren't intended that way. Other times one may purposefully forgo adding an emoticon just to keep people guessing whether they're serious or joking, knowing some people will "get it" and others will see rage, and the writer may enjoy seeing both results as a part of the humour as well. One can never know what one's intents are. :)

But if one wants to be understood clearly including their intents, then they should aim to write clearly and avoid sarcasm, avoid interpretive humour, avoid other things that are up to interpretation and always be as clear and unambiguous as possible. That sometimes means more verbiage (I'm the champion of that! <grin>), but sometimes that's what it takes to be clearly understood.

When we're misunderstood by people regularly, or we have the impression that we are constantly misunderstood then it is probably because we are not communicating clearly and unambiguously with people, and we should focus on that in order to increase understanding and reduce unambiguity. That does indeed sometimes require using more words. Maybe now some folks may understand one of the reasons why I often write lengthier posts to convey a point as well. :)

Back on point though, it's all about Jack Keane 3 - everyone's favourite mythical wishlist item. :)
