I was hoping for Dragon Age: Origins to have a discount in this Sale so I can hit 2 birds with one stone. Well, for now I hit different birds with that stone.

IFW: GOG guys, here is a bug I think.
If you own Sorcerer King you have a permanent discount, 50% of whatever price the game has at the time.
However, during a sale - like now - the permanent discount keeps on using the original price of the game, rather than the correct, current price.
avatar
Grargar: It should work, but the 50% discount will only be visible during checkout.

No, it does not work correctly - just re-checked.

The current price of Sorcerer Kin Rivals is GBP 20.69, the full price is 22.99
If you own Sorcerer King you get 50% of the current price, which is 20.69/2=10.345
Instead, you get 22.99/2=11.49 which is the 50% discount applied to the RRP.

Wait. You mean that the discounts stack? I don't think that's supposed to happen.

It should.
Stardock games are sold at high prices in order to be able to give huge discounts at fire sales periodically, boost their sales ranking (visibility on top lists) and restore the original price (sell to people who would buy at full price too, but had no visibility of the game without it being on the top list).
Rivals IS a DLC, according to Stardock themselves.
Many of their DLCs are released as standalone games, for er... technical reasons.
If the fire sale discounts do not apply to the owners of the original Sorcerer King Stardock would just piss off the people who actually buy their original releases, as they are going to sell Rivals (and the new Ashes of Singgularity and whatever else DLC they have with this release policy) significantly cheaper than whatever their permanent discount is in a few months time.
For that reason, I am pretty sure if you'd ask Stardock they would say that the 50% is always for the current price of the game - to keep their loyal customer base. At least if they have any business sense :)

Somehow, I doubt it and I believe it's instead nothing more than a typical GOG bug. There are many loyalty discounts; that doesn't mean they won't be surpassed later on. But, that's up to GOG to clarify.
...and here is something completely different for those living in the UK (maybe just London?)

I used to get very poor download rates from the GOG CDN, about 3MB (24Mbps) before.
I am not sure whether it was GOG adding a new CDN for the UK or Virigin Media upping their game, but since this week all my GOG downloads completely max out my 150Mbs line, ie 19MBytes/sec (!).

If it was you GOG guys, thanks a lot, much appreciated :)

That's what I am saying - by current price I meant discounted price :)

To bad Torchlight II is back to full price, finally found two people that would like to play, but not for 20+€.

Such a shame.

Maybe in the Winter sale. The discount was prematurely ended for TL1 and 2 due to them giving a way higher discount than intended.
I should preface my post with the fact that I have gotten away from GoG because I haven't gotten an email from them at my SBCGlobal.net email addy for a year now. Have contacted them many times, but still get nothing.

Anyhow, the game I really have been coveting is Grim Dawn.....is there a snowball's chance in Hell of that showing up in this sale? I've been checking in daily, once I learned about this sale(only due to my Son still getting emails:))....was hoping to see that discounted, but not so far, I do not think.

I've picked up some good stuff, and am approaching the 30k mark, but would really like to get this game with some sort of discount. Just don't know if there's some reason they can't discount that one.

That's it for this sale; there will be no more discounted games. Your best bet now is the winter sale, which should occur during the beginning of December.

Oh....so does that mean all the listed games and sale prices will remain in effect until the sale's end?
Wasn't much in the sale that I didn't already have.
Just grabbed SPAZ (hoping second SPAZ comes here too) & jeepers, 5kxp for that one game?

Wohoo! That means I also got the only game on the freebies I hadn't already bought too :D

Yes, the current discounts should last till the sale ends (in approximately 57 hours).
Since yesterday, my GOG Connect doesn't work.
I already have my accounts connected, but GOG put my account on queue

FIX IT!!!
