Well...
>observer_ just released. And I bought it. For a few reasons.
First, I *love* horror games, and I think Bloober are developing some of the most unique and atmospheric horror games, these days (I'm a huge fan of their previous game,
Layers of Fear, and its expansion,
Inheritance).
>observer_ is a cyberpunk game, and you can never have too much cyberpunk in your life. Plus, Rutger Hauer (of Blade Runner fame) voices the main character. Yup, you read that right.
Bloober treats GOG customers with the utmost respect. Layers of Fear was a midnight release, same time as Steam. The GOG version of Layers of Fear has *never* been behind the Steam one, they are timely with their patches and updates, and don't just abandon the GOG versions of their games, like other devs do. >observer_ even released on GOG before it did on Steam, by the way. I want to support these devs and show them, by buying their game, that GOG customers support devs and publishers who treat them right, and not like second-rate people.
This means it won't be as easy for me to buy another game for a little while, but I think supporting these people is more than worth it. Instead of bitching and moaning about all the studios that treat us like crap, we should be voting with our wallets and rewarding those who care about us and have never been disrespectful or unprofessional towards their paying customers.
I wish Bloober the best of luck with their new game, and I hope it sells well here on GOG.
