Find what you're looking for faster, easier, and with style.

As some of you have already noticed, today we launched an overhauled navigation system for GOG.com. The goal is simple: to make it faster, simpler, and better for you to explore our store and find what you're looking for.

Browsing our catalog has never been easier: mouse over the Store tab for a neat dropdown menu that contains ongoing sales, a detailed breakdown of our games categories, and several top-tier suggestions.
To bring our games closer to you, we've also made several improvements to our search engine, so locating the title you're after should be much more straightforward now. Those accessing our store through mobile will notice that these changes have dramatically improved their experience, as well.

But that's not all! If you want to reach Support, interact with the Community, or manage your Account, you'll find that the intuitive dropdown menus make for a much more fluid experience, saving you time that could be spent playing your favorite games!

Your account name and avatar are now clearly visible on top at all times, so you can tell at a glance if you're logged in and on which account. Last but not least, redeeming gift codes and switching between languages or currencies is now more readily available with no need to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!
Looks nice :)
The new Nav Bar is nice with all of the direct forum links. But why is the user name in all caps?
An excellent update!

That said, there is a non-breaking issue with loading content. It appears as though the DOM is loading first and then an API call takes place, which is fairly lengthy. This results in the site loading as "empty" for a moment (a second or so) and then the content appearing. I made a video of this:

youtu.be/TDyn4kLe6ac

It also doesn't appear to be in any way related to the client-side connection speed. I am on a 500 Mbps fiber and still am experiencing it.

Assuming I guessed the reason correctly, it might make sense to start the async content API call before the DOM starts to load. Alternatively, it could be an issue with the speed on the API server itself. I guess GOG's engineering team will know better.

I had no problems with the old site. Cool for mobile users now though. I wish somebody touched the filters though, I mean indie is a genre? Wow.. Indie means a game company is self funded so I guess EA is indie lol. But the real important filters like e.g. if a game has online multiplayer or only local is still unclear. Also still no link from the product page to the forums of this game. This is better on steam.

Hey, I like it! :D Great improvement!
Slow clap
I like the new redesign so far, easier and faster to get to things. Having "Redeem Code" on the account tab is something that should've been done long ago alone.

EA is a publicly traded company. You can buy their stock if you so desire.

op2017si: I like it too :)

However, I don't understand, why there is some "free space" on top:

Yeah, this is a bit irritating.

[edit] Oh and please add a way to access the friend list o.O

OK but I betcha not over 50% so they can still operate independently, but point taken. Rockstar games then.
Holy s**t, some site improvement!
I like it :D

Nicole28: Holy crap! All the fonts just became smaller. While the new nav bar looks like nice, I'm kind of used to it being bigger and the sections neatly partitioned out across the top helm of the site.
Yes, the fonts become very small. Why? Especially in the forums... GOG, can you fix this?
First of all, I really really like this. When I saw the news of an improved design on my mobile, I thought, "Well, I'll probably grumble, and then I'll get used to it, like it always is with looks/navigations updates." Then I had at look at it on my desktop and wow, it really is a much better and faster experience! Thank you for this, GOG; as others have pointed out, this really is a rare case of "site improvements" actually being improvements!

Minor gripes:
!) Most sites I'm a member of have one's profile on top right or top left, not top middle (in spite of my avatar being shown, this will take me some time to get used to).
2) Missing notifications.
3) The purple stripe.

And yes, searching for games that are parts of a bundle would be nice (and useful for GOG as well in case a new customer wants to buy games like the several times mentioned Eye of the Beholder, but that's not something this update changed).

So, GOG girls and guys, thanks once again, my glass is definitely almost full with this update. :)
On mobile, my name isn't in all caps. On pc, it is.
What gives? (ALL CAPS IS SHOUTING/OFFENSIVE CHAT TYPE STUFF! ;p).

Erm, what's the point of the dimming the forum?

Would've made more sense to make the bar disappear once scrolling down. Feel bad for anyone on lower screen res'.
Also, seems odd you'd make a change to the top of the site/forums, but not doing anything to the forums itself.
Completely unmatched now.
I'm just so glad I'm shopping here :)
