It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Find what you're looking for faster, easier, and with style.

As some of you have already noticed, today we launched an overhauled navigation system for GOG.com. The goal is simple: to make it faster, simpler, and better for you to explore our store and find what you're looking for.

Browsing our catalog has never been easier: mouse over the Store tab for a neat dropdown menu that contains ongoing sales, a detailed breakdown of our games categories, and several top-tier suggestions.
To bring our games closer to you, we've also made several improvements to our search engine, so locating the title you're after should be much more straightforward now. Those accessing our store through mobile will notice that these changes have dramatically improved their experience, as well.

But that's not all! If you want to reach Support, interact with the Community, or manage your Account, you'll find that the intuitive dropdown menus make for a much more fluid experience, saving you time that could be spent playing your favorite games!

Your account name and avatar are now clearly visible on top at all times, so you can tell at a glance if you're logged in and on which account. Last but not least, redeeming gift codes and switching between languages or currencies is now more readily available with no need to scroll to the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!

HypersomniacLive: The lack of notifications is really irritating, one has to visit their library, chat and "My posts" page to see if they have any. Not what I'd call an improvement on user experience. The least you could do is show up and let us know if it's by choice and permanent or an unintended side-effect that will be addressed, and when.

The hover-over thing is way too sensitive, the drop-down menus open with the slightest detection of the mouse cursor; funnily enough, the menus take much longer to close after moving the cursor away than it takes for them to open.

Removing the friends page link from the account tab is also not for the better.

That space between one's account tab and the cart seems to indicate that something may be added there, and seeing that the friends page link got axed, I wonder if that space is reserved for a friends-tab.

And whatever this new "Lato GOG Latin' ,'Lato GOG' ,Open Sans, sans-serif" font the game pages use is, it's terrible choice. Apart from being tiny, it's not a "clean" font. Time to extend my font tweaks I guess.

I think there are tips all over the internet telling what fonts are recommended for best performance and visibily/readability.

I do wonder why the navbar sticks to the top? it is used almost everywhere on the internet but to me it is a little clumsy.
As for responds, i checked the steam menus on the webpage and the top menu just disapears when scrolling it does not stick on top, i dont know if the steam website is mobile friendly cause i dont have a tablet that can browse the web, just a plain simple mobile.

Maybe i am old fashioned but when i want to access the menu while scrolling the contents i always automatically press home or end button on my keyboard, been doing that for >10 years so it is no problem to me.
If i am done reading i press home and voila: at home and menubar is visible.
I guess its because of the 99% using mobile for browsing.
Imo mobile and tablets are excellent for watching videos , but for proper navigating websites i prefer a laptop ( a nice one not a small one) or even better a desktop.
Maybe its because people are stressed and rushed they need mobile devices, cause everything has to go fast nowadays. Just take some time browsing the internet and relax, stress is bad.

Bookwyrm627: Can we get some kind of official word about if/when Notifications will be coming back to the website? Because those saved me lots and lots of time.
+1 for that request.
Not a lot to hear from the staff on the feedback this has gotten so far: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/introducing_the_new_page_navigation_system_on_gogcom_09cce?staff=yes
I don't like the new navigation system. It's always the same - whenever GOG "update" the forums they break stuff that worked before and the site loads slower.

The 3 things i hate about this update are:

- The site loads much slower now and especially those animated gifs on the gamecards slow down my browser to a crawl
- The font seems to be even smaller now which makes it hard to read
- The notifications are gone and work only with Galaxy at the moment - that's just ridiculous! (Though i do hope that this is only one of GOG's usual update bugs)

Dang, I have to adjust my schedule and put a couple of hours aside to read through all that.

It probably takes some time for the organizations and government institutions tasked with the investigation to figure out what happened yesterday. Was the change of UI due to criminal intentions, reckless corporate action, human error, technical failure, or perhaps divine intervention...? I guess we can expect a final report in about six months...

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know that we've not been ignoring the thread - in fact, we've been watching it very closely and working on some of the issues that have been flagged up. Some of them we've already fixed (eg. the issues on mobile or the search within the forum), the rest we will continue to work on. Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Good to hear that you have an eye on the situation.
The feedback is much appreciated!

tinyE: Have the Notifications been fixed yet?
Still broken. I believe this may be a permanent change due to the new user interface. I've since started a community wishlist entry to bring the notifications back.

Thanks for showing up.
Good news, some people were having headaches with the mobile version.
Please keep us informed, about the other issues.

For me the navigation with mouse-over instead of clicking is a bad idea at all and inconsistent with the rest of the page. But at least you can speed up the menus with some style settings or just use ssokolow's other userstyle when you also do not want the permanently visible menu bar.

The new forum font isn't much better. Although I do not have problems with the size (actually I had shrunk the GOG pages before) it's harder to read and somewhat ugly.

You also can get rid of that with another style setting from Maighstir.

Thank you for your feedback. But it would be more helpful if you could at least tell us which are the issues that were intended to be that way and which ones you actually plan to fix. This way you might not get the same issues reported over and over. Just an idea.

FYI: Barefoot Essentials script just got updated and it now includes the optional deactivation of the purple stripe design accident as well as the possible deactivation of the dimmimg whenever you hover over the menu bar. Nice work Barefoot Monkey :)

Thank you for some feedback!

If a decision has been made that "Notifications will no longer be a thing for the website", then could you put in a request that someone on the GOG team crush our hopes early? Make a throw-away blue account to catch some of the hate if needed.

Thanks for the feedback, although very late, as usual...

They can't seriously consider to remove the notification system. Both, the notification for replies and chat messages and the notification for updated games, are essential parts of the site. It's already hard enough that they have rolled out a UI change without a working notification system.
