Connect your Steam account and grow or jumpstart your GOG.com library.

UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.

terrisus: It's in GOG's privacy policy now.
avatar
shmerl: Yes, it's a clause which is applicable if you use Steam. So don't use it.

shmerl: I guess it's not easy to understand. It's screaming legalese with spooky phrases like

SURVIVES IN THE EVENT SUCH REMEDY FAILS
avatar
shmerl: ;)
Actually, GOG is making it applicable to themselves as well, since they're incorporating it into their own ToS/EULA, but only with regards to Steam/Valve data gained during the API access. All this section is saying is that you can't sue GOG/Valve for problems with not getting your data transferred correctly under tort or breach of contract remedies available under common law in the US -=unless=- you live in a state where they can't just blow you off with a section like this in their ToS/EULA.

Oh, and if you read further, you can't bring them to court in the US except in Los Angeles, California. Even federal court. And your agreement hinges on your use of their service; if you don't like it, close your GOG account NOW.

Parse it properly and all will be made known unto you. :-]

Wish it worked here. Now the connection page is telling me there was an error and to check back later.

mike_cesara: You didn't realize GOG connect isn't mandatory, did you?
and you don't need steam account at all.. and if you don't have one, it doesn't apply to you! Wicked, isn't it?
avatar
terrisus: To quote what I said in another topic:
"I just want to ensure that, as long as one does not install this Trojan horse of a program, one can continue to use GOG without being subjected to that nonsense. "
You'll be fine as long as you don't click none of those two big green buttons. Take care.

So why wasn't UT 2004 included in this promo?
"Oops, something went wrong" :(

kip68: Same.

Dean_Demon: I'm sure quite a few of us have this, probably will sort itself out but please try again kind of made me feel like throwing up or just laughing uncontrollably.
I'm feeling bad that I finally got a couple of friends to check GOG out for this and it craps the bed. ;)

Well, that assumes you even use Steam at all. If you don't - the whole section is not applicable because there is nothing to transfer :)

LOL True that!! :-]
can't connect. first time i tried nothing was happening. now its saying something went wrong
"Successfully" imported my games several hours ago; now I'm getting the "oops!" message and the games still aren't in my library, lol

This reminds me of the first week of every WoW expansion pack ever.
"Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library. "

:D

"OOPS, SOMETHING WENT WRONG.
Please try again."

:(

It's going to be a long night of refreshes as I accidentally DoS gog for making something I wanted for so long. PLEASE let this be a step towards seeing if I own a game on steam when trying to buy it on gog and launch steam games from gog galaxy. I will probably still buy it here on a good sale if I already own it so I have a DRM free copy, but I just want to be able to manage my game library on both in one place.
+1 for the "oops" category. me too
I wonder if https://www.gog.com/reclaim and https://www.gog.com/witcher/backup will now be folded into GOG Connect sometime in the future. Would make sense to have all of these things in one easy to use location/solution than 3 separate ones.

I'd encourage GOG to do that too.
Did the huge traffic break it...?
Also, not sure how I feel about this. DRM-free games are always good in my book, but... I don't know... It kind of feels like GOG is at the butt of this deal.
Maybe if this is a rare occurrence it can make for a new public to get here. That I could maybe understand. Maybe.

EDIT: I just read that the games won't be available indefinitely. So I guess that makes for an interesting marketing approach (if we can actually connect, that is)
