Now, I hold my breath each time I install a GOG game. It becomes as dangerous to install GOG games as to visit a warez site o_O

Because classic installers (and offline installers from a couple of months back) do register the game with Galaxy, if Galaxy is installed. Classic installers just don't have the files necessary to install Galaxy, it doesn't mean they can't use Galaxy.

So people who don't use Galaxy will from now on see error messages. Great.

Do the installers you downloaded first have the "(g)" in the filename, meaning they are the Galaxy-embedded versions?

Yeah, GOG should definitely be clear when naming the download pages for the Classic and Galaxy versions. At least now that seems to be fixed for BG2 EE, if it was wrong before.

Then they're not classic installers.

Why? The difference between Galaxy installers and Classic installers is that Galaxy installers also include Galaxy with them. Classic installers do not, that doesn't mean games installed through Classic installers cannot use Galaxy.
Again, take a game that doesn't have a Galaxy installer and hasn't had its installer updated in the last month. When it's done installing, it will register itself with Galaxy. Does that mean that the older installers are not Classic installers either, but Galaxy installers were the default even 6 months back?

It doesn't look like he's using AF, there's no downloader links button in the corner of the card.
But he must be using some scripts, as the download window doesn't usually extend to below the close button... at least not in my browser, and there are buttons missing from the nav bar.

He's zoomed in, so the website has gone into "small screen" view.

And... I don't know if anything's wrong with my AF, or if that's a setting I can't find quickly, but I can't see any "downloader links button", nor do the "default to download/classic" settings seem to work as I always get the Galaxy installer by default, but my tests weren't extensive, just set the option, reload the page, and check the same game (BG2EE).

Hmmm. I've attached a picture of what it should look like with AF. No matter what options you tick or untick the green (or red if it's off) button should still be in the corner..
What browser do you use?
And is it true for all games? I don't have BG2EE (or any of the EE infinity engine games) to check if it's specific to that game.

And do you get any errors in your browser console on the library?

Pale Moon 27.3.0, and AF 1.8.0.

The console doesn't detect anything as an error, though there are a bunch of "Unexpected value parsing y2/x2/y1/x1 attribute." ending with "Relative positioning of table rows and row groups is now supported. This site may need to be updated because it may depend on this feature having no effect."

And no, it doesn't seem to be game-dependant.
