gamesfreak64: installed and run...
unfortunately it is using wintermute and wintermute games perform very bad: excessive cpu usuage on a quad core 2,67 ghz,
LordCrepe: Can anyone confirm this issue? This one looks like something I'd definitely enjoy but if the performance is that poor I'm not going to risk it on my crappy laptop.
Ugh it's extremely annoying how -somewhat- frequently these pixelated indie games have these engine/performance issues. Such poor optimisation should be inexcusable in this day and age.
I'm afraid that no one will be able to confirm this because i had a casual (indie game i guess) at steam ( it was drm free) that had serious cpu problems, but the gamers replying could not confirm cause half of them had a single core and the others had 'uber' computers: latest i5 >3ghz , 16 gb ram and superdeluxe artic coolers.
If i had a few thousands euros to spend i would buy the latest hardware and let them build a custom pc for me: with the max nr of supercoolers you can even cool a supernova, the point is many devs do not know ( they claim) about performance problems cause they said : we tried to but we were unable bla bla bla ( the same old story they comeup with if people tell their game is poorly optimised) so i asked for a refund, and i made a note in a textfile never to buy games from that dev again.
Anyway, not everyone of my games perform bad, a few slipped through now and then because the devs do not tell what they used to create the game, if they mentioned we used wintermute, or xna frame or unity i would avoid buying them cause not every developer seems to be able to create good performing code some do, but many don't.
So i expect this will end up 'unsolvable' which is sad cause the game looks very good and i will have to ask for a refund which i rather not do cause i am here to buy games and expand my collection, i hate asking refunds but i give it 99% chance the dev will not be able to solve this performance cause 9 out of ten cases they never talk about performance which is said cause they only care about bugs solving and these will solve themselves cause bugs are more common and will be solved very fast.
gamesfreak64: i have all 3 games
Kyrandia and Kyrandia 2 were good, Malcolms revenge is 'different', the art looks 'different'
i like the art used in part 1 and 2 better, haven't played part 3.
Just bought the FoxTail game ...
lostwolfe: if you like the art style there, i can recommend:
eye of the beholder 1 + 2
lands of lore 1.
both were very much in that style [and made by westwood, too] - they're all rpg's and not exactly adventure games, but they have WONDERFUL pixel art.
Thanks for the recommendation i bought eotb 1,2,3 when i saw them at GOG i had the games on AMIGA
also own the land of lores but i think they are less then the EOTB.
If a game is 2d and moves side to side ( left right) has no zooming in /out and rotating then chances are very big i own the game.
I have all current wadjet eye games.
