marky_svk: Aight guys, thanks but I'm planning on buying the Witcher 3, so is there any fps counter then or I'll just have to use the nvidia one?
You'd have to use the nVidia one.

But what you do get is freedom. Freedom to use the game as the publisher intended, not as VALVe dictates. While it might not mean much to you right now, it might do later.

Also you can install the gog version of Witcher then launch it via Steam and use their overlay function.

oh, and welcome. its nice here and we have cake.

Yes, how dare new potential customers politely ask how things work here before making a purchase, rather than making foolish assumptions and then ranting about how they were wronged? Some people gots a lotta noive, I tells ya....

Wait, there's cake? Nobody told me.
(Also, the "its nice here" part is debatable.)

And even being so polite to recycle their own thread ;)

Really unheard of....

It's not something to complain about. It's a sign of increased exposure, which is a good thing. A bunch of people who are unfamiliar with GOG come to check it out and ask questions, some of them decide to stick around, GOG's userbase improves a bit, thereby becoming a more attractive sales portal, and thus we all get some some more games :)

Wow, guys calm down.
At least he asked how GOG works and was like OK COOL.

You can download MSI AfterBurner, also works with AMD GPUs. It also shows video memory usage, GPU fan speed, GPU temperature and other stuff.

I think it's distinctly better than a "where is my Steam key OMG GOG sucks!" thread :P

After reading mechmouse comment: Do you mean like achievements (hours played, certain goals reached.....?
For this you would need to download galaxy and run it via Galaxy.

https://www.gog.com/galaxy

If you are not looking for achievements and really just fps counter disregard my suggestion ;)

Just an add on to your remark to Bigs.

...and, assuming people aren't jerks to them in their first foray into the forums, maybe we also get some decent new community members (although that might be asking for too much around here these days.)
are we seriously having a fight in here? :P

Here is a suggestion. GOG create a separate page where any two people can log on and play Mortal Kombat against each other to resolve any differences. :D

Okay.
It's just that you made it sound like this was a necro'd thread, or that marky_svk had posted before in another thread, or something.

Been a while since I used it but launching a non-steam game via Steam give you access to overlay functions such as chat and fps. It will record hours played, but not achievements as they would need to use the Steamworkds API.

I don't know how import, letting people know he's killed his first rat is to him.
