First, a couple definitions for purposes of this topic:
A "trap" is anything in a game that punishes the player for doing something reasonable, and which the player could not have known about in advance. For example, if there is an invisible coin block above a pit that will cause the unsuspecting player to fall when trying to jump over it, that counts as a trap.
A "trap game" is a game that is built around traps as a mechanic. Some platformer examples of this are Syoban Action and I Wanna Be The Guy. (Note that games like VVVVVV and Celeste, while difficult, are *not* trap games, as you can see danger before you get killed.) Note that trap games don't have to be platformers; I could easily see a pure adventure game qualifying ("open door" -> "The door falls away from the wall, crushing you. Game Over").
Anyway, I would like to see a trap game that keeps track of which traps you have triggered. Furthermore, if you manage to trigger every trap in the game, there should be some sort of award. (If the game has achievements, this would be a perfect opportunity to give the player one.) Alternatively, the game could keep track of all unique deaths (typically as the result of traps), and reward the player for finding them all.
Any thoughts on this idea? Any games that have actually done something like this?
Edit: Why the down votes?
