hedwards: I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's pretty fucked up that people like you have turned this into a conspiracy thread, but it's pretty disgusting to let it just lie.
It turned into conspiracy threads pretty much everywhere on the internet. Maybe it's not widespread in USA, because government is openly spying on everyone and unwary US citizen might face consequences, but in other countries people can speak freely.

With such spying possibilities like US government has (Putin said, that Russian intelligence can only envy to theirs possibilities), they can drug anyone (with gas, or poisoned food, etc) to behave abnormally, if he'll refuse to cooperate, and write in his twitter: "i hate this world, i'm outta here. Good bye cruel world!" to make it look like a suicide.

Whoa, what drugs did "they" put you on to make this post?

There is no "free speech" anywhere, even in India for that matter.

There's a lot of anti-US propaganda these days in Tzar Putin's Russia.

Exactly the same in Russia.

From a European point of view, the difference between Obama and Putin are just language and appearance.
European governments are going in the same direction atm. Authoritarians for whom the end justifies the means are on the rise everywhere and lies are essential. If you want to know something about your own country, don't read newspapers that are made in it, it's as simple as that. I don't get my information about Germany from German papers either since I've seen how they are made, too much propaganda and lies.

There are no such incidents happened in Russia.
You can say whatever you want, as long as it is not against the law (slander, call to overthrow the government, disclosure of personal data, etc).

This is abused very much by Russian press and media, sponsored by US and EU funds. Nobody shuts them down.
Meanwhile i heard about attempts to shut down Russia Today in some European countries and in USA.

No, Russian special forces can't access any twitter account, for example. While NSA has master key.

Interesting. :)
From a Russian point of view, Obama rules Europe. US military facilities are an indirect proof of this.
And this "refugee crisis", which was made possible by US pawns in Europe, also indicates in this direction.

You can't imagine how many people around here are very unhappy about the US assassin-drone control station in Ramstein and other military facilities. Obama doesn't rule Europe, but his cabinet rules over the most powerful parties in some European countries including the German CDU and since they are in charge atm, the results are as they are.
I don't know anyone around here that likes American politics and the same goes for Russian politics. Both is authoritarian imperialistic crap and both sides spread as much lies as possible. I won't judge if plague or cholera is worse.
The cold war has never really ended and we are still caught in the middle.

I disagree. Russia is the underdog here. NATO crawls to it's borders. Russia must heavily rely on it's nuclear potential and keep it at bleeding edge to stop possible global war.

True.

hedwards: A mentally ill person claiming police brutality and then committing suicide really ought to be taken with a grain of salt. Even if the allegations are true, it's pretty clear that there's more to the story than just that as people don't generally commit suicide in response to that. ...
Although they might. It is far from proven that the police did anything wrong and it's rather likely this guy just commited suicide. Suicide is not very uncommon. Also reading this thread I don't see more than minor circumstantial evidence. A relatively pathetic internet bubble that is mixed with quite a good amount of conspiracy theories.

On the other hand the police is known for making mistakes too, for example that kid in Ohio carrying a toy gun who was shot and killed by several officers on first sight and they got away with it one year ago. This is not a single case. So there is always a chance/risk of a police error.

What remains in the end are two questions:

- How can it be proven to the police that they made a mistake or how can the police prove it acted correctly? Surely more live video recordings are necessary.

- How can the police act more professionally and treat the citizens so that they are benefitting from the actions of the police? Better training, stricter laws against misdeeds in the police force, ... might be good.

The goal is to help people, even suicidal people. So maybe, just maybe, if they had acted differently (even holding him in hospital longer) this guy could still be alive. Maybe not, who knows.

Actually for some time in the 1990s it looked like it but unfortunately the cold war is back on smaller scale (The lukewarm mini war maybe.). I don't really believe in the match Russia vs. US anymore (Russia is economically too much behind).

Somehow my impression is that nowadays everyone is a bit at war with everyone else and I could not predict where the next hot war will break out. China against it's neighbours maybe or again somewhere in the Arabian world (Saudi Arabia maybe?) or Africa or somewhere else? Difficult to say really.
Lighter turn on the original sad topic, Ars Technica published an article titled "The birth of Debian, in the words of Ian Murdock himself".

Once again Mr. Ian, thank you for your invaluable contributions. Rest in peace.
