darthspudius: I'm assuming it is a new trend in games. Walk, do nothing, walk so more, do even more nothing. I don't get it myself.

nightcraw1er.488: I wouldn't be surprised if there was already a youtube where you can watch someone else walk around doing nothing.
me to, most of the times , if not always, certain reviewsites/reviewers, get a special alpha demo/press version so they can review it and talk about it, otherwise we would'nt be able to read preview info and see footage or parts of the game being played.
And last but not least: 90% (maybe more) of all new games arrive on Steam first, weeks later they are released elswhere, so thats why we can see a game walkthrough while we dont have the game yet, unless we hug DRM and get it on steam or elswhere with tons of DRM in it.

Deponia 4 already a complete walkthrough :D
i am watching it :D

JDelekto: If this is the future of Virtual Reality, I hope they at least provide some very nice wooded areas to traverse and trails to explore.

HereForTheBeer: I can see it now: Oculus Rift with the Treadmill option.

Actually, that's probably already in development, and it wouldn't be a horrible idea if you're going to get a treadmill and go VR anyway...
Most of this tech is from the military, anyway. Troops have been training with various VR and aug-tech gear in the Warfighter program for years.

I'm sure the fat-kid-running-in-place-with-a-Geordie-Laforge-hat-on option has not escaped them. After all, we need lots of profit from the consumer secondary markets to fuel our never ending search for new ways to murder-death-kill the entire planet. Gotta love that public-private partnership. Is it corporate? Is it government? Who cares?

Who need Oculus Rift for that? Might be just a tad too expensive though :(

Actually, that does look like fun. Imagine using something like that to train people without the actual hazards of combat. I would tend to think they would be more prepared for armored encounters.
