OldFatGuy: Did I mention I hate computers?
Perhaps once or twice...
Congrats on getting things back to norm. I remember my first Windows (95) computer I had a bit of a "moment" when I brought the new computer home, hooked it up, and the minute the startup sound played through the speakers, there was this little mini-explosion with the computer shutting off instantly. It kept doing it until I realized I had plugged the speaker into the "Line Out" rather than the Speaker Out plug. Though technically I *think* it should have worked, I decided not to bother figuring out if I had a defect. It worked good enough =P
Turns out I seem to have bad luck when it comes to plugging speakers. Much later on I plugged in a composite cable for a DVD player but didn't realize instead of yellow, I had it in the orange or something like that. There was this loud buzzing on the TV. I ditched it since my electrical engineer friend said it couldn't be repaired. Instead, I gave it to him for the parts only to find out months later it was perfectly OK. He just wanted a DVD player!
