Well, nothing for me this time. Like most times. Is it just me or aren't humble bundles that spectacular anymore?

muntdefems: But certainly including an abandoned game like Planetary Annihilation and a Steam-only one (I think it is the first time they do that in a HIB) kinda sucks big time.
It's not abandoned, it gets patches the same time Titans does. It's not available for standalone sale, but that shouldn't matter as long as the code works. No idea if that will keep up, but as long as it's playably stable when they do sunset the support, it's no different from other games.

blotunga: Hmm, nothing that i don't have here and would interest me except Planetary Annihilation. And i was looking forward to that when it was announced but seeing the reviews, meh.
It's pretty good, it gets on crazy sales (like $1 on Bundlestars a week or so ago). I'd say 75-80% of the reviewers are spoiled entitled whiners. There are fair negative reviews on there (it certainly isn't perfect) but most of them down vote it because they didn't get it for free.

It's been solid for me lately, apparently Titans is way more buggy, but you never know. I also play the Mac version and it's been fine. 56h of gameplay according to Steam. The only time I had an issue was major slowdowns, but that turned out to be an OS bug with my video card, 'cause everything else slowed down too.

itchy01ca01: OO planetary annihilation? The game that the devs said could do everything and they gave up on? Yup, fuck you. Fuck you Humble Bundle for giving us yet another broken, early access game (Yes, I realize that it's NOT EA but it certainly should STILL be a work in progress given how shitty it really is.)

Oh and Fuck you Humble Bundle for raising your prices for the BTA. I haven't seen a decent average in the past 4 or 5 months.
avatar
amok: It is called beat the average for a reason....
The problem is if the BTA is very near the "15 or 10 to unlock special this or that". I don't know how they actually DO the averages but it seems to me on an ever increasing scale, which .. just doesn't make sense to me, unless everyone else is paying up the ass for these things, which I just don't think is happening.

Someone did a poll on it and found the averages were nowhere NEAR what people actually pay.

And you couldn't GIVE me some of those games in this bundle. No, you couldn't. I wouldn't pay for them, so it's really not whining when I wouldn't have got them in the first place :)
I was excited when I saw a new Humble Indie Bundle, but unfortunately I own everything except Skullgirls and Planetary Annihilation. Both are not from genres I play a lot, so I don't think the two games are worth the BTA price. Let's ee what they will add next week.

There have been a few. The Total war one was nice. And the Star Trek/Wars comics ones were awesome as well.

The banned books one is really interesting as well, if the BTA wasn't fucking 12 bucks. Really? They don't realize where I can get those exact same comics, probably with better editing and none of the other hassles HB has?
Just a quick note regarding Xenonauts: The Mac and Linux versions were previously wine wrapped but with the release of this bundle they have been ported to a native Mac/Linux version by Knockout Games, the same person that ported Shadow Warrior (2013) and SOMA. :-)

My only complaint is PA: Titans being only on Steam, great bundle otherwise.
I like the way the only Deponia in the bundle is the one I don't have. That works out well for me :)

Licurg: What's DRMed ?

Grargar: Gang Beasts, the Early Access game from the $10 tier.
FWIW, IsThereAnyDeal reports that a DRM-free version is part of the deal when it's released. Quite unofficial, mind you. But there you go.

Xenonauts is tempting... others not so much. I think I will pass...

I just saw this bundle. It doesn't give much information though. Where exactly are comics like Bone, Elfquest and Essex County banned?

And if you don't own it yet, Essex County alone is worth the money. It's a real masterpiece and one of the best comics I've ever read.

Edit: Forget it, I just found the information I was looking for.

I'm usually excited about at least one game per Humble Indie Bundle, but not really this time :(. I played Skullgirls during one of its free weekends and it was just...okay, I guess. The rest I either own, or they aren't really my thing.
Here's hoping for something meaningful in the 2nd week.
Any of the soundtracks particularly good?
Hah, when the Steam only games started appearing in Humble Bundles I was assured that Humble Indie Bundles would always be DRM-free. It was only a matter of time.

First of all, I doubt that you can get all of them together for that price, although I'd be happy to be proven wrong. Secondly, it's not their job to realise that kind of thing for you, and it's not your job to tell them how to run their business. You don't like it, but some place else, simple as that.

If you click the comics on the page, they provide links to their reasoning for calling some of the comics "banned" or "challenged" (they differentiate between those statuses on each title offered), including Bone and Elfquest (but not Essex County).

Bone: http://cbldf.org/banned-comic/banned-challenged-comics/case-study-bone/
Elfquest: http://cbldf.org/2015/03/a-month-of-women-who-changed-free-expression/

Edit: and apparently you found it right after I posted...
