I'm actually curious as to whether the PS1 version is the "more complete" one. At one point in the PC version, I got fed up running around trying to figure out what the game wanted me to do next and checked a FAQ. The FAQ was written for the PS1 and made reference to several puzzles that definitely were not in the version I had, which makes me wonder whether the PS1 version might have gotten a few extra months of much-needed development time.

That's not the only weird anomaly, either. In the main menu of the PC version, there is an option for "Load Game", and if you select it it even brings up a series of empty load slots. However, there is no way to manually save your game into these slots - instead, the game autosaves whenever you quit. This led to some serious head-scratching the first time I played - "There must be a way to save, but where the heck is it?!"

Giygas of Earthbound fame. Maybe.
Also I could've SWORN there was an old computer game adaptation of Dreamquest of Unknown Kadath. I saw a screenshot (ancient AGI type graphics and all) but I can't find it anywhere. Maybe it was a different Dream Cycle story, Idk.
Has anyone mentioned Quest for Glory IV yet? I didn't see any. That's a pretty obvious one if you've played it ("YAH! Avooooozl!" I love you so much John Rhys-Davies).
By the way when are we going to get a game adaptation of Sweet Ermengarde? I'd love nothing more than to see that. :D

Azilut: Has anyone seen the Colour Out of Space film who would care to comment? HPL film adaptations are so rarely tolerable, let alone good... running the next 16 days:

I actually ended up watching it a few months back as part of my October horror marathon. It was... okay. On a technical level, the film is much more competent than most Lovecraft adaptations (well-shot, decent acting, etc.), but it was just missing that special something.
I also watched the HP Lovecraft Society's recent film adaptation of The Whisperer In Darkness, though, and that one was a blast! I had a few minor nitpicks (some minor pacing issues, the picture quality looks a little too crisp, the CGI mi-go look completely out of place), but on the whole I was having fun from start to finish. Recommended, especially if you like the 1950s sci-fi style they're imitating.

Ive read The Call of Cthulhu recently and was kinda disappointed. I guess my expectations were really high because of all the hype around this short story. The Colour Out of Space still remains my favorite.

In case you never heard about it:
The Last Door is a RETRO Adventure in a HPL-Universe.
You can play it for free in your Browser, but you can donate as you see fit.
There will also be a Steam greenlit Season One Collector's Edition .
the iOS iPad Version is also developed with the 2nd Episode out now.
I only played the 1st Ep. yet but this is really promising.

Well, there's a fine little free game inspired by Lovecraft (and by a satire of oh-so-happy Nintendo-like games like Super Mario) that has not been mentioned so far: Eversion. Short and sweet, this certainly ain't your typical lovecraftian game! But don't be fooled by its appearance: as the Master from Providence teaches, there's more than meets the eye...
Then, for the sake of completeness we could mention three SEUCK games for the C64: The Call of Ctulhu, The Dunwich Horror and The Shadow over Innsmouth; but they are jokes, they're obviously not meant to be taken seriously!
