MacArthur: Just as a reference, Age of Decadence roughly doubled its number of copies sold here during this sale according to its dev.
So 4 copies sold then? =P

paladin181: I got 100450 exp and ranked 2089. Spend around $90. Hope that helps for the sake of this exercise.

vicklemos: Hard to measure. So the dude who got the throphy spent what? Probably a ton! ;D
Close to $2k. I would like to have that kind of disposable cash.

Now we know he has a backlog the size of every mom in those "your mom's so fat that..." jokes! :D

adaliabooks: The top spender got 2638130 XP which, if you take out the free XP, means he spent roughly 290 times more than me... or just over £1700 (assuming no regional discount applied).
That's just... not right.

More like 2 to 3 thousand ones, for a total of around 6000 copies sold.
avatar
Tyrrhia: All that totals to $655,370. If we assume as you assumed that 25% of buyers were Russian and spent 70% less, that totals to $655,370 * 0.75 + $655,370 * 0.30 * 0.25 = $540,680.

Finally, by assuming GOG takes 30% of the total revenue, it amounts to $162,205.
That's an interesting exercise and it seems pretty accurate judging by the CDPR financial reports for Quarter 2 of 2014 and 2015 (the previous summer sales also took place in June). However the number of people who didn't opt in is most likely too large to ignore.

To elabrate, the net profit for 2014 Q2 was $595,547; and for 2015 Q2 it was $1,397,046 (however a large chunk of it is attributed to the release of Witcher 3). So if we assume that the Summer Sale represents 1/4 of Quarter 2's profits (April 1 to June 30) then your number makes sense to estimate the bare minimum of what GOG made this year.

Anyway, we'll know soon enough with the 2016 Q2 report whether you or adaliabooks made the closest guess. :)

That'll be interesting to know, for sure. I hope adaliabooks's estimate is the closest guess, but I think it's a bit too optimistic, especially after seeing the financial reports of previous years. But I think that, in the end, the numbers will be greater than those of 2014 Q2, but less than those of 2015 Q2 due to the release of The Witcher 3 as you mentioned.
