Afaik mods can't see this. Admis - maybe. Depends on the forum software how hard they would have to dive into the database.
And it seems that all the time the same posts are downvoted.

The biggest problem, there is no problem with creating new bots.
We got a spammer in the german sub (very likely the same person who uses to downvote), who spams every releasethread with the same stupid stuff.
And when one bot is deleted, another one will post the same.
So, creating new bots for spamming GoG and let them spam, you can do it automatically without showing your real account or doing much manual work.

It seems like certain styles of writing of the spam message have been blocked, but he does alter his sentences a bit and it works again.
Seems like the not-attention hurts him the most though.

The REP system for the most part, is broken. It can be abused and is.

At most, I look at the REP amount and it tells me how long maybe someone has been around and how often they post here, whether that's negative or positive REP. But even that evaluation is less than perfect, so I don't put much stock by it.

Not all REP is about downvoting, much of it I reckon is about hiding. It is a shame those two elements are not separate.

In short though, I simply don't trust the REP system. As going by how some here with high REP behave at times, it is not hard to determine something isn't right.

There is definitely automated voting happening. Call it bots if you will. And some people are targeted more than others, and perhaps even based on a topic, as everyone who has replied here seems to have gotten negative REP.

I think you could say that all the negative votes here are sending a very clear message to GOG about the silliness of REP. That said, it is great to be able to hide someone you cannot stand, so you don't have to read their crap, hear their voice.
