Interesting. I wonder if we'll ever see them on GOG.

Anyway, here's the problem: you need to get into town but the guards at the gates won't let you pass (no wonder, you look like a hobo in your ragged clothes). So what will you do? Will you climb the town wall where it's the lowest, try to find some better clothes to disguise yourself as one of the locals or think of something else?

ZFR: If I get a GBA I'll give it a try, heard good things about it. But... as I said, I don't really like consoles.
Sure, no problem! If you can't get one you can always try an emulator, however watch out for the colours, I own a GBA and when I put the cartridge into DS, a blue pool was suddenly purple because of the larger colour palette - however the rest was pretty fine, but I didn't play more than check out the nearby surroundings since I hated how it just changed some colours it shouldn't have because of the larger colour variety, however most of it looked the same, only one or two things were out of place in that town (I think maybe something with red was changed to, or the red was more vibrant or something as well as other colours).

By the way, how did you know it was GS since you haven't played it? Did you hear about the plot and that gave it away, or did you solely guess it by the merit of it being the best RPG of its platform?

Can you describe yourself? Is this an RPG? It sounds almost like Quest for Glory but you don't ever come dressed like a hobo.

Is it an adventure game? (oh hang on, is it just one question? If yes, that this one is the one).

The protagonist is a young man with rather fair hair (which turned darker in later games) and he's had a really hard time thus he looks like a hobo.
The game's a CRPG and it isn't Quest for Glory.

Ghorpm: And why oh, why this game is not on GOG yet? One of my favorite action games ever! Your turn :)

Fever_Discordia: It was originally published by Psygnosis which means that Sony have got their hands on it, never to be seen again! Sadly
Actually, I assume that's why the 2nd Draken was a PlayStation exclusive too! Boo!
(yeah, yours was probably a rhetorical question but I couldn't resist the chance to bitch and vent, sorry!)
Yes, it was rhetorical but don't worry I don't mind ;)

Your post made it clear it's not on PC and I heard a bit about it, so I did a quick google search to see if the story checks out. I didn't know of the plot before.

Dangerous Dave are on GOG. I linked to them in my post :)

I'll ask a question: Can you briefly describe the races? Are there non-humans in the game, and could you give examples?

Here goes:

HELP! I survived spiders dropping from above, jumping green slime, leaping werewolves and knives that I mistook for ladders, but this indestructible flaming scull is too much. It's slow and steady and whenever I pass it and go up, I know that the moment I miss a jumping puzzle I'll fall right on it.
Flaming Skull sounds familiar but I can't quite place it - is it Ghosts and Goblins?

All 4 in one pack? Neat. :-)
Besides humans there are undead, orcs, dragons, demons and various creatures you don't get to talk to. Most of the non-humans are hostile to you, but there's at least one orc shaman who doesn't want to kill you outright. Giving examples might be a spoiler to the plot so I'll just mention that you need a special item to be able to talk to dragons and it is kept in the town you so desperately try to infiltrate.

Pay attention Fever_Discordia. This question was answered and a new one is up.

This is a serious thing we're doing here. Is this all just some kind of a game to you?

Your ragged hero is Nameless, and the game is Gothic II.

And your ways for getting into town are:

1) climb down the mountain near the Lares
2) local farmer
3) wanna-be alchemist in training for Constantino
4) Canthar pass
5) bribe
6) climb the wall near Paladin ship at the harbor
7) jump on the wall near snappers
...
8) cheating, by exploiting game mechanics

I don't know what to add, you even listed the way that was added in Night of the Raven.
You are correct and it's your turn.

Спасибо.

Completely lacking any inspiration so far, so here's a really easy one:

This mayor wants me to eliminate the leader of a gang, located up North, for killing his son, but the question is: did the gang really do it?
