That's great! :D
After reading through all of your hints and comparing it to Osmos, I was pretty sure that's it. It seems like a really good game to play for relaxation.
Next riddle:
Another diamond! I pick it up and store it safely away in my pouch now becoming satisfyingly bulky. I feel an itch in me to go on and explore more of this beautiful frozen landscape, but my good sense prevails as hostile encounters are increasing, almost as if the world itself was aware of the intruder, and attempted to resist the intrusion with everything at its disposal.
I saw a pack of wolves following my trail in the distance. A roaring bonfire will distract them, but not for long. I run and hope to find the passage to safety before the fire dies. But there my journey will not end, I still intend to visit many more places. Worlds as strange as they are fascinating await, and - sweetest of all - their treasures!

The early and more puzzle-like levels really are. Wonderful atmosphere, too. Some of the final ones in the branch with 'intelligence' are absolutely brutal, though, and not at all relaxing, but that's good for a change of pace. :) After reading through all of your hints and comparing it to Osmos, I was pretty sure that's it. Your description sadly doesn't ring any bells for me, but sounds interesting, so I'll be keenly looking forward to finding out what it is.

I will post more clues later, and when the game is revealed also a link where you can try it for free if you wish.

Doesn't sound like anything I've ever played before.

More clues:
Of my journey I can still recollect many events, fresh in my memory as if I had returned yesterday. I remember watching with dread how fallen giant's flesh began turning to stone, lush vegetation embracing and swallowing its body in a few heartbeats. It took nerves of steel to keep my sanity through venture in that world, for its flora, so alive, was always moving. If I turned back, no path ever looked the same. But such is the abundance of shiny yellow gold that I brought back from there that even now I feel the pull to return.
I have invaded a palace, overcame the mighty Vizier and followed an unexpected friend, leading me to the charming princess. Such was her gratefulness to me for rescuing her that she had repaid the favor with love. I though it best never to reveal to her that I had stolen a few intricately woven rugs decorating the halls on my way to her.
I have left behind me whole graveyards of creatures, for they stood on my path to riches of their worlds. Of this I am not proud, but for me, it was the only way. It had to be done. It is but a passing regret, for many wondrous things I had experienced that all adventurous souls would envy.

That sounds like Aladdin and a roguelike game (because of the everchanging landsapes). :D Is it one of those new indie games? I remember there were at least two where you are in an Arabian Nights kind of setting on GOG.Of my journey I can still recollect many events, fresh in my memory as if I had returned yesterday. It is a form of roguelike, yes, you're right. :) It is an indie, but not released in 2016 nor is it on GOG.
Here, some more clues:
Perhaps the oddest event of my journey was battling snakelike fire-spewing dragons while carrying a baby giant turtle on my shoulder. When we escaped the world of this fierce beasts, we searched for the mother of the baby among its hundreds of relatives.
Once my bags were so overfilled with riches I could barely drag them behind me, the time has come to reach for the ultimate treasure. Imagine my despair when I finally found it, with a hostile horde hot on my trail, only to discover that I required a key to unlock it.

Expanded last clue:
Once my bags were so overfilled with riches I could barely drag them behind me - diamonds, gold, spice, rare bird eggs and feathers, rubies, rugs, onyxes, corals, garnets, pearls, enigmatic statues of ancient gods, precious flowers, wine, silver, red gems, figurines made of ivory, dragon scales, fulgurites, ancient jewelry, emeralds, golden eggs, daisies from hell - and plenty more; even the Holy Grail itself; the time has come to reach for the ultimate treasure. Imagine my despair when I finally found it, with a hostile horde hot on my trail, only to discover that I required a key to unlock it.
Come on. ;)

But that's cheating. The point of the game is to guess and recognize a game you know. If you don't, someone will. At least that's how I play it. :)
