ZFR: Spellpoints, memorizing, or some different method?
Spellpoints, mana to be exact.

That reminds me of a number of games, but non fully fit as of yet. On a side note, do we include MMOs into games that can be featured here?

Can you describe the protagonist in any manner? He's a mage and former avatar, yes, but what does he look like, how old is he, is he even human?

It's not MMO... yuck.

He is a human male in his mid thirties I think. His past is unknown, though he was sort of a criminal. Mage is one class among others you can choose, I hinted about sword remember? He was not a former avatar, he just IS.
That sounds really familiar.

Gothic 2, m?
As Innos is god of Light and Rhobar (as he will later call himself) is his avatar, it kind of fits.

Yes, your turn.
This game fell to the trend of re-releases and will soon get a "Special Edition" which I will have to eventually buy even though I have the base game already.

Anyway, the story begins with you being almost late to a meeting where your girlfriend performs a very beautiful song. Minutes later, an assassin breaks through the glass roof and shoots the leader of your community. You try to fight him but he is obviously superior so you nearly get yourself killed, barely saved by a special power you possess. As the killer leaves, all hell breaks loose and you chase after him. Will you get your revenge and prove you are stronger than him?
So-o-o-o, what should I add?
OK, the leader of you community, the one who bit the bullet wasn't exactly the man he seemed to be, but you'll discover it somewhat further into the game. And it will nearly cost you your life.

See you in the morning, don't be too shy to make guesses or ask questions, I'll be up in seven hours or so. :-)

Omikron: Nomad Soul?

Fever_Discordia: Omikron: Nomad Soul?
No.
Later in the game you get to play as that assassin - and find out the story behind his attack on the community's leader.

One of the Assassin's Creed games?

Green_Hilltop: One of the Assassin's Creed games?
No.
I used the word "assassin" since the person who broke through cathedral's roof did that to assassinate the old man. He isn't a part of any order or secret society as far as I know.
It sounds similar to Dishonored in terms of general plot, but the murder was out in a gazebo.
Ok, could you describe your "community" a bit. Is it a religious order or somesuch, or just a town, or what? Give a bit of a detailed description please.
Is the player character a supernatural being?
