Lajciak: Yes, the title choice is extremely poor.

Lifthrasil: Yes, it is. I was expecting a game like 'World of Goo' or 'Puddle' or something and was quite disappointed that it was RTS (which I don't like) instead. So, people interested in RTS tend to overlook this game and people interested because of the title will be disappointed, since "Grey Goo" doesn't exactly lead to the assumption that it is a RTS game. Bad choice of title, no matter how justified it is 'in-universe'.
You make a good point. Not only are those of us who like RTS games not attracted to it, but it cuts in the other direction too. Yep, you are right that the title might attract people who like different games only to leave them cold once they realize what the game is about.

cw8: No hype for this game here? I wonder if it's coming to GOG? It's made by Petroglyph Games, some of the folks who made C&C:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/290790/

Wonder how much it is.
They also made Star Wars - Empire at War and Universe at War which are both games with great ideas and good execution (ground battles weren't very fun in Star Wars but try Universe at War, it was a great game).
Grey Goo seems really fun, i haven't bought it yet but plan to and i'd really like to see it on gog !

Go vote for it, everyone.

Also, (at least for me) it's cheaper on the game's website than on Steam if anyone can't wait until it's on gog:

Might work, considering the target audience.

So GOG is your adversary in this game?

Piranjade: I talked to one of the game devs at gamescom 2014 and he said that he doesn't think there's a way to convince the investors and higher-ups of a DRM-free release.
Ah, now that's a pity :(

Anyway, really want to pick this game up. I really love Westwood, and it's nice to see ex-Westwood devs still making RTS games.

Is a GTS 450 enough to play this game? I tried using Can You RUN it, but it was acting weird; it said I didn't have a 32 bit Win7 operation system, when I have the superior 64 bit OS

Fenixp: God, that music! I love you, Frank Klepacki. I love you.
Wow, blast from the past much. I had no idea Klepacki was involved again and I certainly didn't expect his current music to sound so much like his good old C&C tunes (I still regularly listen to the original game's OST btw). I'm curious what the other music in Grey Goo sounds like. I hope the music is going to be as diverse as in the earliest two C&C games, although I doubt that's gonna be the case.

And suddenly Grey Goo has become ridiculously hot.

The way I understand it, used soundtrack heavily depends on the race you're playing, with different races having wildly different thematization. From the presentation I've seen in TB's WTF is... video, there's even an in-game music player, where you can choose and mix which music you wish to have played.

Is all of it going to be as old-school tho? No idea. It sounds like human songs are, betas are more orchestra-oriented, and the goo is going for more of a dubstep approach. All of it sounds like quality music tho - after all, it is still Frank Klepacki.

Then again, the linked song is Beta's track. Damnit, I have to play the game just to find this shit out.

We have GOG.
It's grey.

We must have Grey Goo!
I have to say, this is the most interesting RTS I have seen for a while! .. I'd buy it if it was available here on gog.com, I don't feel comfortable renting it on Steam.

I do hope Petroglyph make a success out of this (and bring this to gog.com)
I would like Petroglyph to be successful too. The need to finish / improve Universe at War.
That game was pretty good, but it's rushed production really brought it down.

Yeah, ikr.
I'm so tempted to rent it for $50 on steam JUST for the music...
Still on top 10, hope they stay there for some time. Really dislike those Day Z clones hogging up the top 10 seats.

Is it me or is even the Codex's noticing the campaign's difficulty? My reaction's not as fast as it was back in the C&C days and I've been spoiled by the numerous turn-based games, not sure if I can handle the campaign on harder difficulties.
