If you like Snatcher, give Policenauts a shot.

Chances are the post that was a reply to yours was deleted. Either:
* Some moderator came and deleted the post. (That would require such a moderator to exist.) Or,
* Enough users reported the post as spam and it was deleted as a result.

(Chances are it's the troll who was posting content-free transphobia, complete with the t-slur, in many threads, most of which were unrelated.)

Yeah I just had something like that happen to a thread I replied to too. I was like, wait, where's the new reply?

Well, good riddance to spammy trolls.

I have played through both by emulation means some years ago, SNATCHER was sooo good, Policenauts disappointed my then too high expectations... Still a quite good Space Sci-Fi VN though.
Juniper's Knot - a short and free Kinetic VN you can find online.

By the same folks as Dysfunctional Systems too. So if you wanna try that out before buying Dysfunctional Systems that's a thing you can try.
Infected: The Twin Vaccine - probably one of the few games (if not the only one) from this genre, which I would recommend even to people who generally don't like VN at all.

I've read good feedback on True Fear: Forsaken Souls in the hidden objects genre.

More than fair. If you need a modern VN-adventure fix, I suggest Read Only Memories. Not quite as good when compared to Snatcher in my opinion, but certainly welcome.

I have Dysfunctional Systems in my library, but haven't played it yet primarily as, as I understand it, it's only "part 1" of a story that's now abandoned.

They made a Kickstarter for episodes 0 and 2 and 3, did most of the work for episode 0, then fell apart. Then more recently they got back together, finished episode 0 and released it, and apparently the original artist is also back on board for 2 and 3 which I last heard they were working on.

So the most recent info I know is that they're still active and working on 2 and 3.

Good to know, thanks!
While not a great VN, I would like to put forward a forgotten game: Shira Oka. This particular game is modeled after Tokimeki Memorial, Save the Queen, and Princess Maker in that you raise the stats of the protagonist to progress. Unlike the other games, your character reincarnates after every "cycle" accumulating greater abilities and options.

Unfortunately, the game got panned hard by hardcore anime-gamers. Being released in 2011, it was a very niche product and suffered horribly from the court of public opinion. Personally, I found the game to be at least decent, especially after being starved for a game like Princess Maker.

Anyhow, the developers are apparently no longer a entity, so the game isn't available for purchase anymore. If you pull out certain apparel and accessories, look for at least v1.1.8.
