mrkgnao: That doesn't, of course, address the GOG two-letter search bug. Please report this bug in the "What did just break?" thread, even though it's not new.
avatar
Grargar: It isn't a bug; the search function tells you that the search term must be at least 3 characters long.
But he did use three characters: I + T + : .

I think that's more of a problem of the search (dys)function in general. If he is to post it on the thread, he should rather post the search engine problems in general, rather than this problem specifically.

Ah, you meant that, right.
I wonder which other non-alphanumeric chars don't work.
Spaces, for example, just cause mess in the results.

phaolo: Yeah
Forget it then.

mrkgnao: On my side, I will modify MaGog's logs to use a longer string. Will try to get to it over the weekend, at the latest.
avatar
phaolo: Thanks
OK. Did it. From now on, the regional string will be "regDE" instead of "DE" (same logic for all other regions).

This will, of course, work only while there are less than 101 posts with regDE in the thread, since GOG does not return more than 100 posts through its intra-thread search. Whether you consider this a bug or not is up to you.

Oh, that was a quick trick ; )
But.. just 100 posts? Sigh..
Despite Ciris' post I believe the dollar price in RU changed (=more expensive). Not sure why he/she didn't report it.

We'll know for sure on MaGog's next run (in 5-6 hours).

I think the prices have increased by about 40 cents.

blotunga: I wonder why Nordic hasn't returned yet... or did they leave because of the Fair Price package?
Nordic Games left GOG.com on friendly terms and with hopes to return someday because of...

As to why they haven't returned outright, it would seem that the information present in their post is still relevant and that as long as it is still relevant they'll be contractually unable to return to GOG except during sales promotions as they have twice now.

Hope this helps.

Perhaps it's due to not being well for the past few days now, so could you please explain what exactly this refers to?

Phaolo wanted to search for any price changes to Italy (belonging to the DE region). He can't make a search using merely "DE" (as GOG search requires at least 3 characters) and "DE:" produced no results. Therefore, mrkgnao decided to rename it to regDE, so it can become searchable through GOG's search function. Problem is, searching for a term inside a thread won't produce more than 100 posts worth of results.

Word for word what I would have replied. Thanks, Grargar.
From MaGog's logs for 16 April:

* Regional price for Telepath Tactics in regRU: $6.79 instead of $14.99
* Regional price for Telepath Tactics in regUA: $6.79 instead of $14.99
* Regional price for Telepath Tactics in regUZ: $6.79 instead of $14.99

Full details of the price updates resulting from the conversion rate changes will arrive later (too busy to analyse them at the moment).
From MaGog's logs for 16 April:

Another conversion rate change; another bagload of regional USD price adjustments. See attached file (change jpg to txt) for the gory details.

Highlights:
1) For the EU, this change is basically the reverse of the one did by GOG on March 26: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/regional_priced_games_on_gog/post2094.

2) Grim Fandango Remastered is back to being "regionally discounted", namely no more expensive than the US in any region.

3) NOTE! CHANGED Starpoint Gemini 2, regional_str: AU,BR,GB,PL,RU,UA,CZ,UZ, ***TO*** AU,BR,DE,GB,PL,RU,UA,CH,CZ,NO,SE,UZ, (+DE, +CH, +NO, +SE)

4) DE, CH, NO, SE have returned (after a short sojourn) to being somewhat less expensive (in USD) than US, on average

5) As for RU/UA/UZ, their prices were raised by ~5%, so that now the ex-Soviet discount is only 54-55% (as opposed to 57-58% before the change).
