GameRager: Abortion talk isn't against the rules and isn't politics.
This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read.

avatar
GameRager: I have been on edge lately with what I have been hearing through the grapevine about certain users and this has made me more cautious.
What are you talking about?

avatar
GameRager: BTW again current events/hot topics does not always=political, although I guess some might find it that way due to their interpretations of such.
You always turn them into such.

avatar
GameRager: Heck, I made a SCIENCE/PARANORMAL thread(no politics of any kind) and some still tried derailing it just because I made it. Is that fair?
One of the few threads you've created that I hope doesn't get locked as it's a cool topic. Then again I haven't looked much at that thread and you think abortion isn't a political topic so for all I know you've turned that political too.

Why is it dumb? Just saying it's dumb without context doesn't give me much to go on to reply back with/to.

If it's the politics thing I will clarify: I don't believe talking about abortion(pro/con) by itself is gov't politics related, though YES many will have a stance on it and those stances are often divide along party lines.

===========================

Out of respect for those here and don't want to smear anyone unnecessarily/drag it into the thread I won't be mentioning names.....suffice it to say that some here are trying to spread false info about me to turn opinion about me and maybe get me banned/low rated by more people.

==========================

Again prove it/show examples. If you mean social politics/identity politics show me where in the rules it explicitly states that such are not allowed? The current "politics" rule likely only applies to gov't politics talk and without clarification by staff on that rule we don't know who's right currently.

If they came out and said social/identity politics was banned as well I would also stop posting such....until then I will interpret the rules as I see them(as that rule is vague at best, as I said)

==========================

I didn't but others tried derailing it anyways

==========================

Perhaps but why bring it up?

==================================
To all: I ask those here to please stay ontopic and bring any further talk about me/my posts to PM or my offtopic thread out of common decency/courtesy which I try to extend to everyone else here.

GameRager: I don't believe talking about abortion(pro/con) by itself is gov't politics related
It's a huge culture wars issue (in the US, much less so in Europe), one of the defining issues for political polarization, so is inevitably going to lead to flame wars.
And since there isn't yet an abortion simulator on Gog (and hopefully never will be), why talk about it in a gaming forum? A lot of the users here aren't interested in the drama that bringing up those issues will cause.

The abortion topic is massively political. Many people vote exclusively based on a candidates views on it.

If that was an honest question... it really explains things about the way you post.

Let's say your first point is true... you made it political by commenting on a political story about it.

Well, I only judge you based on what I see and I'm seeing someone constantly breaking the rules to talk about political crap people are tired of then playing (or apparently actually and honestly being) dumb about why people are upset about it.

Anyway, hope you don't get banned by the forum Nazis.

Considering threads (used to) get locked that are expressly about them I'd assume they were included.

Maybe that isn't the case anymore... unfortunately. Identity politics in particular are the worst kind of trash politics.

South Park: Stick of Truth would be great on Gog.

He's not really happy, but he's eating a lot and hopefully, once he gets a little bigger, and able to defend himself, we can let him back out into the wild. :D

They simulate abortion in that?
That sounds pretty tasteless even for South Park's standards.

So it's a cultural issue and it can lead to problems with discussions? This I can agree with somewhat.

Here, spoiler warning of course. It's at 8:10, Not regular abortion, but it's really tasteless and you have to perform it yourself.

At around 6 minutes, the player smashes a fetus that's trapped under the floorboards. Tasteless and nasty as all hell.

Further warning: symbolism that's not legal to portrait in your country, the video might be blocked. Don't know how far that law goes.

It's a political issue, stop pretending otherwise.
And no offense, but you also shouldn't forget that this is an international forum (and one about gaming, not politics!). I'm pretty tired of Americans and their stupid tribal battles over abortion, gay marriage etc. You're not necessarily the worst offender (tinyE with his Trump derangement syndrome is annoying as well), but imo it does get tiresome seeing that stuff brought up again and again.

It may be be held with various stances with various parties and be political for some but to me that's not talk about(gov't) politics imo. If GOG said not to mention it I would stop, to be fair/fwiw.

======================

I'd have to look back(I forget sometimes what I post about/....somewhat bad memory) but IIRC I was focusing on the issue itself and less on the politics brought up in said article.

=======================

Again to me I find it not against GOG rules as currently laid out/defined. If GOG changed/updated them to include what politics they meant and it included such i'd stop or move such to PMs between friends.

Also thanks for the well wishes. It is appreciated.

=======================

They were mostly where some would talk bad about other users/groups or derail other topics...that's usually what led to those being locked.

As for identity politics...do what I do...just ignore topics(from anyone) you dislike as long as staff is ok with them. IMo we'd all get along more here if we all did that.

Is it a good game? I like SP and always wanted to play it.

Also i'd like Nocturne/Blair Witch Trilogy.
