PnutDraws: so i managed to get the game, i installed the wine thing in lutris, but when i installed the game it for some reason it stores things in my smaller ssd with my OS on it & causes my ssd not have enough space, even though it has more than 200gb of free space, i specifically chose a different installation but still this happens
Is the smaller drive where your home folder is located? By default, Lutris will create a "Games" folder under the home folder for installing and keeping all your games. You may want to change the location of that folder to where your preferred drive is mounted (usually under "/mnt" or "/media") under "Preferences" in Lutris.

Also, how did you install Lutris? Was it as a flatpak or regular distro package? You may have to edit file access permissions if you installed it as a flatpak.

I think you need to change the install location in the preferences to a different location as it may override the manual save location when installing.

Click on the 3 lines icon at the top right of the client, then click preferences, then global options and then select a location.
i managed to install it, im not using flatpak, just regular lutris,i had delete everything and when i reinstalled it, there was a small option on top which lets you choose where the download cache files go, those caches files were saving to the wrong ssd and causing issues, i ran witcher 3 for the first time & it asked me if i should run it with the red launcher, i chose yes & the game ran fine, but i changed something in the configure & wasn't able to fix the game, so i just added it as another game & linked the exe to my already installed dx12 witcher 3 location & it works, but im not sure if its all connected properly, my og game installation wasn't working, but as suggested above in lutrix preferences i changed the global location & that seems to have fixed the issue! i still am not sure how achievements would work, because its connected to my gog, does it all sync up automatically?

I think the achievements are tied to the GOG Galaxy client and there isn't a Linux version.

Even the Heroic Launcher only has cloud save support but no achievements at the moment.

Nice find on the Download cache, i was looking everywhere for that in the main preferences, never thought to click it on the install.
so far i haven't seen any achievements pop up, it does say that i've signed in when i launch the game, i'm not sure if there are achievements in the beginning, but thats really sad if i can't get any achievements, the reason i really wanted to get it on gog was because i wanted to support the devs & i thought it was the better version, i prolly should've gotten the steam version

For me I think this is the better version as you can download the offline installers and back them up so you can install and play the game without an internet connection or if GOG ever closes down.

I play offline most of the time anyway but i get why people do like achievements. I'm over 20 hours in and i've not seen one pop up so they must be tied to the Galaxy client.

Heroic does support achievements, but you still don't get a popup when you unlock one during gameplay. It does appear on your GOG profile, though.

Heroic also supports playtime synchronisation and purportedly multiplayer functionality for GOG.

i tried Heroic just to see, i added my already installed location from lutris, sure enough, i saw achievements popping up in my profile, but i couldnt see my save files, & i didnt want something to mess up again, so i uninstalled the game from lutris & redownloaded it in heroic, thankfully the speed was much faster in Heroic, & sure enough achievements are working in Heroic! they dont pop up, but it still works, i forgot i had cloudsave enabled cause i still could find my save. if anyone want to know if youre lutris installed game will work in heroic, it does. i just wanted to be safe. so Heroic launcher it is!

I never tried adding my game folders from Lutris into Heroic because Lutris relies on offline installers and Heroic actually uses Galaxy builds by default. It's great to know that it works, though.
