Lord_Kane: Sadly since GOG is based in poland sometimes support can take a bit of time, but in my experience I have not had it take this long.

timppu: I wonder if today is a holiday today in Poland? Because in Finland we do have a Christian holiday today ("Helatorstai"), and in my experience Polish people seem to have just as many, if not even more, Christian holidays as us (Easter etc.).

I checked Wikipedia for "Helatorstai" ("Holy Thursday" I presume) , and it mentions that it is a holiday in most European countries, so maybe also in Poland...
possibly yesterday was a polish holiday too

Oh yeah, "Holy Wednesday", how could I forget... Fortunately tomorrow is the Holy Friday, but after that a common Pagan Saturday.

And do not forget the Unholy Sunday.

As for NWN 1/2 MP, that is officially dead since time immemorial...So, no, definitely won't work without a third party software or direct connection.

And yeah, today is a public holiday in Poland, which means that most of the people are not at work (usually).

OriginalTorchic: however already had done that and was unhappy with the fact that the server browser was offline and direct connect was my only option unless I downloaded a 3rd party extension. The multiplayer does not function as advertised, I want a refund.
Quick question, where does GOG advertise NWN2 having a server browser? The game originally used Gamespy for the server browsing, but that was shut down quite some time ago. So while you still need to use a unique CD key for multiplayer, the server browser will require a 3rd party tool, no matter where you get NWN2 from.
Yup. JMich is right. There is only a MP tag, but nothing about a server. Just took a peak at the NWN 2 site description. Nevertheless, GOG will probably honor the refund request, but this clearly seems to be a mistake made by OP.

There is no mention of how the MP would work and the MP term is broader than most of the today's people think that is (MP includes direct connection, LAN, online connection and even the console's/PC's split screen experience).

There is also Play by E-Mail, MMO, MUD's, just to name a few others. So if anything, GOG is just giving a vague description, but not incorrect, nor false.

OriginalTorchic: I have been trying to contact support for over a week now to get a refund for Neverwinter Nights 2. When I initially submitted my ticket, a "Natalia" responded fairly shortly. She addressed my issue with the multiplayer not working and gave me the information on the CD key changer. I however already had done that and was unhappy with the fact that the server browser was offline and direct connect was my only option unless I downloaded a 3rd party extension. The multiplayer does not function as advertised, I want a refund. Seems straightforward. So I reply to the email to reopen my ticket and inform her of my issue again. No response. I wait 48 hours and send a new email. Still no response. So, I submit another ticket. And another. And another. No response. I have less than an hour on the game and there is a 30 day return policy. I have been cooperative with trying to get my game to work as intended. Do they really want my 20 bucks that bad? Anyone else run into gog having deplorable customer service? Seriously, EA has been more available than these guys.
Sorry you had to wait that long. I'm guessing since you got a reply, it's not a spam-folder issue but it might be worth checking anyway. At any rate, I'll poke the team about your ticket!
Thank you so much. Support has contacted me and the issue has been resolved. @wolfsrain my problem was that there wasn't anything in the description to let me know that the game no longer functioned as originally intended. Had I known that GameSpy was no longer in service and I would need to download third-party software to enable the server browser, I wouldn't have bought it. Now, I take responsibility in that I *could* have done some additional research prior to my purchase, but I didn't.
Again, thank you all for your assistance.

Glad to see your issue got resolved quickly. Just a note that the D&D games, in particular Neverwinter Night series and Planescape Torment are very popular top sellers here on GOG, and they very regularly come on sale at least 2 times a year if not 3-4 times a year for about 80% discount. All the D&D games can be bought for around $2 USD each during these promotions, and often all the D&D games are on sale in a mega-bundle for $21 or so for about 10 games. Now that the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Editions are swallowing up the availability of the original games it is not clear how this will play out in future D&D promo sales, but I presume that the NWN games at least will still be around $2 or so on sale. Even though it wont bring back Gamespy multiplayer, it might be worth considering vacuuming up the D&D collection here when one of the blowout promo sales is on, they're all great games to have a nice DRM-free copy of. :)

What would be awesome though, would be if because GOG is such a big D&D fanclub... if the publisher would add Galaxy multiplayer support to these titles that lost their multiplayer. Well, one can dream anyway. :P

Anyhow, good to see your issue is resolved, and hopefully GOG will update the game page with clearer info about the multiplayer issues.
