The number of brand new/"new to GOG" games I've bought is vanishingly small. The most recent one was Saints Row 2 back in May of last year, and that was the first one since fall of the preceding year.

I try not to buy here for less than 60% off, and I have never paid more than $10 for a digital download game.

Crewdroog: thank god, I thought I was the only one. I HATE strategy games. Every time I see a new release, the cover art sceams, "you will love this RPG" and then I see strategy and I just make a face.

I have bought no new games. NONE. because *points wildly at list*
the moment i see the word strategy i go >: < followed by (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
Great thread idea, I was curious about this myself.

Grargar: I'm unconvinced/suspicious of their quality.
Can you clarify what you mean by this?

Habanerose: So I'd say it's less about an suddenly excessive focus on strategy, but rather related to the more limited choice of bigger publishers willing to put their content on GOG (just look at how many of the other genres releases are actually new games, as in not already been out for years).
This remains really strange to me given that GOG has only gotten bigger and gained more customers as the years have gone by, and are working on Galaxy to appeal to publishers.

i joined gog just for old games as i very like 90' vga and svga games. i dont like ugly early 3D like turok and new games either. today course of gog is nothing for me and i bought nothing from new relases.

but if gog release old xcom: enemy unknown, im not even waiting for sale and buy immediately :-)

- Impossible Creatures

- Chaos Reborn

Though I do agree, the games I want are not coming.

But that said.

It the last 3 years, I've bought over 140 GoG, compared to 70 Steam games in 11 years.

It's not entirely GoG's fault, the blame is with publishers not trusting DRM free.

Turok and Overclocked.

Overclocked is now probably the purchase on this site that I regret the most. Awful, awful game.

I can't even begin to describe the aggravation I'm feeling over the imbalance of Strategy/Tactical games vs. Everything else. Especially the not only pitiful, but partially self inflicted lack of games in arcade-style genres.

PaterAlf: Edit: I think you also forgot some games in your list. I also bought Never Alone, Legends of Eisenwald and Braveland Pirate.
I only took the first two levels of "entries" in the "new releases" tab on the frontpage.

Grargar: By the way,
avatar
catpower1980: - Last Federation
- Starpoint Gemini 2
avatar
Grargar: the above games weren't recently released on GOG.
Same reply as above:

hyperagathon: But...the genres...
I used the same category as they're listed on the "new release" tab on the front page (I only added management for Tropico)

And yeah, GOG categories are kind of a mix bag (like the "shooter" category mixing shmups and FPS)

I would've bought Overclocked were I not flat broke at the time it came out.
Yes, yes, it's terrible, GOG Y U ONLY STRTG?

And before it was "way to many adventure games".
And before that "why no more old games?"
And so on
And on
And yawn

Those two entries are:

Last Federation Collection
Starship Gemini 2: Titans

Correct? If that's the case, then my point still stands. Last Federation Collection is the bundling of Last Federation (which was released here in April 2014) with its two DLC packs, while Starpoint Gemini 2: Titans is just the DLC for Starpoint Gemini 2.

I guess I should have said unconvinced that I would like a game or suspicious of its quality.

For example, I love games with a Western theme and the positively-received Hard West definitely fits that bill but it being a turn-based strategy game gives me pause. On the other hand, TrickStyle looks like the kind of game I would definitely enjoy (Arcade Racer), but comments regarding its lack of general quality and the state of its PC port makes me suspicious.

OK, I deleted SG2, too many DLC's on GOG.... :o)

For Last Federation, I'll keep it as business-wise it's a new "complete" product (otherwise, I could also delete Blood&Gold as the previous owners got the "upgrade" for free).
