Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Hey GOG team, update 1.2 would be a very awesome Christmas surprise... just throwing that out there. :P
GalaxyClient Helper Application has been crashing a lot lately. Windows 7 64bit here.
It would also be awesome if Galaxy could ask what game we want to play when a game has multiple versions after we hit the play button. For instance Civilization 4's expansion packs are hidden under MORE->OTHER as a separate game shortcut and not part of the original version.

I can't help but feel people are playing the original and don't even realize the other half of the content they bought is well hidden under menu's in Galaxy.

Johny.: I presume that without GOG Galaxy running - it doesn't rise the temperature? :)
Could you try following scenario?
Open any game view (click on any game in the sidebar), hide GOG Galaxy to tray and check if it happens after a few minutes
avatar
alexrmpoa: Ok. I waited for my gpu temperature to estabilize and started Galaxy, opened game view and hid it to tray. After almost 10 minutes idling, my gpu temp went from 35c to 45c.
That is very hard to believe that Galaxy Client is the reason here. :) I wonder if it rises without it. Remember that even your browser uses your GPU. I will take a look at it.
Current version is very unstable here on Mac OS. There are dozens of processes like 4 x GalaxyClientHelper...

I have updated a game (Candle) with the installer. And Galaxy reports and update nevertheless. But if I click on "repair and check" - so that Galaxy can recognize the new version disk - Galaxy crahses every time.

What means the process "GalaxyCommunication"? I can not kill that process after crashing Galaxy...

Just posting to state this again, the Galaxy symbol still looks like crap. I know this was suppose to be improved in an earlier patch but it still looks really bad. It's blurry and pixelated, especially in the taskbar area which is the worse. The menu symbol in Galaxy is slightly better because it's larger but even it is still a little blurry and pixelated. Also PLEASE remove the Galaxy symbol in the titlebar, two Galaxy symbols right next to each other is simply unneeded and redundant. Galaxy really could use some small TLC in the UI department.

If you can't get this fixed, I really implore you guys to please design some kind of symbol to represent GOG and Galaxy, because text typically doesn't look good at those sizes. We all know the software we are using is from GOG. Some of kind of symbol (like a small version of an actual Galaxy) would be fresh and cool.

Picture is attached of this issue. These were taken on my laptop at 1366 X 768.

EDIT: Also looks the same on my desktop at 1920 X 1080

Any word on the cloud save feature for Galaxy?

It's really the only thing thats holding me back.
Anyone still have issues with downloads starting over after the client is completely closed? (As in "Quit Galaxy when closing main window" is checked in options, or even pausing the download first then logging off or shutting the computer off)

The .DOWNLOAD files remain in the Downloads!/temp/game_name folder but it restarts the download from scratch if the client is closed. Was upgrading to The Witcher 3 GOTY and had 10GB done, "Aw parents are getting up and will complain I'm hogging the wifi, I should get a few hours of sleep this weekend anyway". Pause download, close Galaxy, Shutdown cause my water cooler turns my PC into a heater. Open galaxy when they've gone to bed, it says "Downloads paused" when it opens, I click resume, and POOF! START OVER!

EDIT: Galaxy fails to resume a download when I use it do download the backup installer, it does resume game installs.
The client (1.1.23) now hangs on startup, I've used Galaxy since the release and never had this issue before.
I got a new IP address today and the issue may be related to two-factor authentication.

E: fixed

Getting double scroll bars again when Galaxy is set to it smallest size (which is the size I like to keep it at) and clicking on a store page. I've not noticed until now because I usually buy games via the site. See attached image.

EDIT: Reported issue here.

I like that you have improved the client to FINALLY fix the glaring issue of having to redownload the game if I downloaded a backup installer. But some quirk I noticed.

Let's assume a copy of Rayman 2. It has been installed through a game backup installer, GOG Galaxy detected it, and it's now showing in my library.

If updates are set to automatic, Rayman 2 shows that it's on the latest version. If updates are set to manual however, even if it's the latest version, it will complain that there is an update available and it's not the latest version. In order to remedy that you have to redownload the version through usage of Rollback manually.

I would like it so that when I set my game to receive manual updates to be fully aware whether the content is indeed fully updated or not.
Hi guys,

Apparently, if I go to the forum through the GOG Galaxy client the forum Search button doesn't work.
I wonder why games sold here are working on win xp but gog galaxy isnt ?
