== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page

Changelog 1.1.15 (September 7th, 2016):
Changes / Improvements:
• Added Wallet button in dropdown menu under user's avatar
• Performance improvements on UI speed and a little on CPU usage
• Enabled copying text in Galaxy forums
• History will now remember only the 100 most recent pages in history
Bugfixes:

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

I like seeing friends' game time and achievement progression the most. It's small, but I hope public profiles will follow at some time later. ;)
Did I miss some setting or is the viewing of friends playtime and achievement things really not optional as suspected before?
Hi, I will apparently no longer be able to use Galaxy Client, as in my attempt to update to the latest version today resulted in malware being detected (but thankfully quarantined) by my anti-virus. The Malware in question was called Mal/DrodZp-A

I wanted to inform others of this issue so that it could potentially be fixed.

Taro94: I'd say using FRAPS is an example of such an alternative.
If someone already owns FRAPS or is ok with buying it or downloading the free version and ok with the trial limitations it has then it could be a usable workaround for them. Alternatively the same goes for any similar software as well. Many people wont want to have to go get special 3rd party software like this however just for the purpose of taking screenshots and/or having a usable FPS counter. Personally I'm not too thrilled about FRAPS for other reasons however.

we make sure our software is virus-free before shiping it :) What you're experiencing is a false-positive due to heuristic scanning. Antiviruses, when encountering unknown software (like the freshly released GOG Galaxy), will try to guess. Sometimes they guess correctly, most of the time they don't - they falsely report proper software as malware or viri. From the point of view of the antivirus creators this makes sense - it's better to have an irritating antivirus than a lenient one.

I assure you our software is scanned with antiviruses before releasing :) But stuff like this just happens.

After Galaxy updated itself to 1.1.13, downloads of all extras consistently fail now. The whole file downloads, then right at the very end it says "name_of_file failed. server problem"

I had considered that, however my antivirus specifically identified the exact malware that was detected, which is why I'm very concerned. Further, following the quarantine, the installation fails to complete. As a result of the quarantine I get this message even though I downloaded the newest version directly form the site:

I posted screenshots of what happens when updating. I'm sure you can understand why I would hesitant to allow a file to be out of quarantine when it's labeled as a very specific virus/malware.

we've just released Galaxy version 1.1.13. It's been nearly two months since last version, but as you can see the changelog is quite big:)

Here are the changes (i think) you might like the most:

We've introduced installation of third-party dependencies only once, not per game, but per computer. That means if two games requires DirectX, Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 etc., it will be installed only once :) But don't worry, if anything goes wrong, verify/repair will always install/reinstall those.

We've made a change so that Galaxy will no longer start game updates, while you are playing a game. For now there is no way to change this behavior in settings, but in nearest future we will make it controllable:)

You might as well enjoy links to store, forum and support in the "More" dropdown menu on game page for faster navigation.

Games waiting for release will show release date (if available) instead of "not compatible" status.

And... last but not least, we've greatly improved rendering of fonts on Windows:)

I'm wondering if "Upgraded Chromium (our web rendering engine) to newer version" is causing the rendering problems that Galaxy now seems to have? Sometimes Galaxy goes black when switching between browser then back to Galaxy.

Overall though I think the galaxy devs deserve a good job on this one, Galaxy is slowly becoming what we all hoped it would be. When 1.2 drops it will probably feel like that other half of Galaxy that is missing has finally been added.

Also, one additional screenshot of where it says the malware is. I'm sure you're right that it's a false positive, but by nature I'm extremely wary of ignoring warnings like that. Maybe knowing what it thinks is suspicious will help you figure out why it's suddenly causing my anti-virus to do this when it's never done it in the past.

And before someone tells me that the whole point of GOG is to be unlike Steam: the distinguishing feature of GOG and Galaxy is no DRM and an optional client. It's no secret the Steam client offers much more than Galaxy at this point and there's nothing wrong with adding many of its features to Galaxy.

It's no secret the Steam client offers much more than Galaxy at this point and there's nothing wrong with adding many of its features to Galaxy.
Of course, Steam does a lot of things right and overall is a benefit to gaming. Valve just ruins the experience by not giving many options, allowing third party DRM to infest it, and so on. GOG would be smart to adopt what Steam does well and also provide things Steam does not.

Store Page Link for Prehistoric, Prehistoric 2 and Duke Nuke doesn't work. For Prehistoric, Prehistoric 2 I get only loading indicator (line moving in circle), but nothing happens after that. For Duke Nukem it gets me to page which lists all GOG store games.
