== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

mike_cesara: Well, technically it's still.. technical preview ; ) Surely it needs some tweaks here and there.,
avatar
BKGaming: Honestly at this rate I'd be happy will any changes, kind of sad that Galaxy of today is largely the same as Galaxy of a year ago. Not that there haven't been some nice changes on the back end for mostly developers, but from an end user perspective changes are to slow and far in between.
I believe a lot changed during last year (even more since alpha) and don't forget we also have to face new, not necessarily expected problems like windows 10.. But I agree, from an end user perspective it doesn't seem like anything but some minor cosmetics changes. But I've heard rumors we have bigger Galaxy team now, perhaps more spectacular changes are coming : )
avatar
joelandsonja: I don't like the new GOG.com icon at the top-left hand corner of Galaxy. I don't see why GOG can't use the modern logo for the Galaxy client. The purple logo looks dated and out of place (see attached image).
What modern logo? I went to their Twitter and other social media profiles and it looks pretty much the same to me, just in a circle.

I agree it looks a bit blurry, but it's not that bad, a higher resolution version would fix it easily.

avatar
BKGaming: I mean were using Galaxy and GOG we don't have to be told what were using... not even Steam's logo say's Steam on it.
Just because most major sites don't have the name of their products in their logo doesn't mean that doing it differently is a bad thing. (It seems it's only a thing with Internet brands, I made a quick Google search and it seems most traditional brands include their names in their logos / have their names as logos.) The GOG logo looks good, it's not flashy and gets the job done. If you introduced someone who is new to Google, Spotify, Tumblr, Twitch, Twitter, YouTube and many, many others to their logos, do you think they would know what products they're looking at? Besides, "GOG" is only three-character-long, while most other sites have at least six or seven characters in their names, so that may be a reason why they don't display them in their logos.

Google's revolutionary-wannabe Material Design "Less is more" isn't always the best approach.
Seems like Galaxy doesn't recognize Witcher 3 addons/DLC that were installed via the manual installer. It looks alright in-game but the client still wants to re-download stuff.

The issue isn't really the logo itself, it that it's being used as a desktop icon... it's blurry and gets worse as it's get smaller. It's easily the worse icon on my desktop as far as quality and scalability goes. Enable small taskbar icons on the new windows 10 insider preview and it's unreadable. Text on desktop icons is just overall bad, and most avoid it.

Unfortunately, the system that recognizes manual DLC and patches is basically brand new, and only applies to patches and DLC released since Galaxy 1.1.9 (it's the second entry in the 1.1.9 patch log above). That will probably (hopefully) apply to Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, but sadly I don't believe any of the others have been re-released since 1.1.9.

The DLC downloaders have been updated I think. They are all version 1.21.

It's not that big of a deal as long as the game itself works/keeps working.

No, pardon, I meant Galaxy's version 1.1.9, the version of the DLC installers is irrelevant and unrelated. My point is: I have Witcher 3 as well and haven't seen any updates since Galaxy 1.1.9, so the installers can't have the new feature.

Anyway, I'm glad it's working in the end.

One wish: look into CPU time used when idle/minimized.

While I'm reading something it can be distracting when the CPU fans are noisy since there is some CPU load constantly.
Dear Galaxy Team

There is a Polish language available in Galaxy client, so when you will add such language to choose in options at gog.com website?

EDIT

I own WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT, THE - GAME + EXPANSION PASS and when I go to your shop at gog.com or in Galaxy client there is an information ADD TO CART for WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT, THE and WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT, THE - EXPANSION PASS. It's strange, because I own WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT, THE - GAME + EXPANSION PASS in one package and it includes: WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT, THE and WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT, THE - EXPANSION PASS. You should mark it as OWNED, because someone may buy twice the same package.

PS. My Avatar still is not visible in Forum.

Thank you in advance for your great support.

Sincerely

Correct me if im wrong, but it looks like the backup downloader is stupid and it will re-download what i already have in the backup folder all ready which seems kind of daft, how about a check ? md5 or such if existing local backup all-ready exists
i does not appear to do so at the moment, as it turns out the games linux version had updated and not the winders version , meaningless download again should all-ready be there

Well.. any news regarding the high cpu usage? It's becoming a serious issue when the client is running for a longer period of time :(
What games are GOG Galaxy Multiplayer Ready?

I know AvP 2000 Classic is but is there a list compiled?

GOG Galaxy stopped connecting and wouldn't update.

I used GOG Galaxy a couple days ago to play something. Everything worked fine and dandy. The next day I see an email about policy changes and the addition of the Steam connect that's going on with GOG. So last night I launched GOG Galaxy and got a pop up message that said:

"there was a problem updating the application"

If I hit okay on the message, it would go away and I'd get into the GOG Galaxy client, but it wouldn't connect to the server. It was rather late so I thought maybe the server connection was down. I went to bed.

Curious if my connection worked, I installed GOG Galaxy on another computer and connected to my account this morning. I got home and tried it on my computer at home and it wouldn't connect. I got the "there was a problem updating the application".

I uninstalled GOG Galaxy and downloaded the app again. I installed it. Launched the app and got the "there was a problem updating the application".

I added firewall exceptions into Windows Firewall for GOG Galaxy app, launched it, got the "there was a problem updating the application".

I restarted my computer, launched the app, got "there was a problem updating the application".

I uninstalled GOG Galaxy and went through the registry and deleted out anything with "GOG" and "Galaxy". I restarted the computer. I re-installed GOG Galaxy and it works now.

I'm not sure what happened because nothing changed on my side. I had not installed anything new or made any changes to my network or the Galaxy app, but it just stopped working. So, if anyone else is having this problem, please make sure you uninstall the GOG Galaxy program. Then go into your registry (make a backup first, this is very important), then search (Ctrl + F) for Galaxy. Anything that's found with Galaxy in it, make sure it's for GOG Galaxy (should be very easy to spot, everything I found had GOG or Galaxy in the registry that I came across) and delete the registry entries. Once you've found them all, reboot your PC. Then install GOG Galaxy - this should get it working for you.
Just wishing the Galaxy team the best!
